Las Cabanitas was our base camp for the excursions and trekkings on the Perito Moreno glacier, El Chalten/Fitz Roy and even on the Chilenian side for Puerto Natales/Torres del Paine. Thanks to this "central base camp" in El Calafate we were able to optimise a lot our baggage and trekking load. Every time we returned to Las Cabanitas the owner... More

The location is good, close to the centre. The very small cabanitas are ok if you don't mind climbing a steep ladder to go to bed in the "loft". Breakfast was quite good. WiFi only works in the reception/restaurant area. This place can be noisy at times. Quite expensive for what you get, so no real value for money there.... More

We were pleasantly surprised by how small and cosy the cabanitas were ( though the heating is a bit cranky at times). The cabanitas is just nice for 2 of us, 4 would be a bit squeezy. Gerardo and family are very friendly and eager to dish out travel advise to us, even though communicating is challenging as we don't... More

Cosy and clean small cabanas. Located only a few blocks away from El Calafate's main street, on a nice terrain with a small garden. The host Gerardo and his staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Cabanas are small but really nice. The bed is great with a firm mattress. Gerardo is always willing to be of any assistance. Only drawback is the shower in the cabanas because the water took a very long time to warm up. Don't forget to go to Laguna Nimez if you like birdwatching!

This nice hostel was suggested to me by a friend of mine who was there with her husband one year ago. She was right! The hostel is in the centre of El Calafate at few minutes walking from the principal street, it is very confortable, useful, colored, warm. Gerardo always put on pleasant music, you have all what you need:... More

We stayed for three nights, in two rooms in the main house, one double and one with bunks, with a private bathroom. Although the rooms were just off the small lounge area, we were never disturbed by noise. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower-room was a bit of a squeeze but fine - plenty of... More

We spent 3 nights here in January 2012. This is a very nice, clean hostel that offers outstanding customer service. The cabins are small but cozy. They offer everything you need. We were not expecting luxury, all we wanted was a place to stay and we left with unforgettable memories. Gerardo and Karim were very helpful. From day one they... More
