Just a fabulous B&B/home that's exquisitely decorated. Great service and wonderful location. Highly recommend it and would stay there again.
We could have spent the whole time roaming around the house, it was so lovely. It's a bit more of a B&B in that there isn't a lot of "front desk" services, but the staff are very friendly. Our room on the second floor had a sign in the bathroom that you had to run the hot water for 5...

El Lagar is an exquisite mansion in a quiet part of town, full of artwork and family pieces. You will feel like a guest in a beautiful home. Lovely garden and swimming pool in the rear. Wonderful breakfast; many restaurants nearby for dinner. Beds need to be upgraded. There is no sign on the front of the hotel, so remember...

When you walk through the front door, you discover a real treasure. The breakfast here was the best of our trip to Salta province. Beautiful grounds, and a few steps away from one of the most amazing museums - The Pacha. I am so glad that we endeavored to do some exploring in the area.
I was flown up to Salta by a group of wineries and had to spend one night in Salta city, so I had a chance to enjoy this outstanding boutique hotel. This was a long time family home, now handsomely redone as a full service hotel. The original hardwood floors, the impressive art collection, all add to the superb experience....

Incredible house with a large collection of very beautiful art, nice rooms, friendly staff except for the manager, a little grumpy. Located one block from a road full of restaurants and on sunday the best market.
My husband would like to take up residency here!!!!!! This 50 year old dwelling is built with the finest of materials and the artwork, sculptures, gardens and furnishings are top-notch! Before arriving, I thought El Lagar might be too stuffy or pretentious for us. However, we felt right at home!
From the front door, one would never know what lurks beyond. Pure...

If you're going to take the tren a los nebes, El Lagar is for you; which is probably why, unless you're a narcotraficant, why you are in the otherwise pleasant town of Salta anyway. And even when the train doesn't run (in summer), there's a really pretty good crafts market one block away, starting in front of the said station...

This was our second stay in El Lugar, the previous visit was in 2008. Nothing has changed, and that is the delightful paert. (Actually they installed A/C while we were staying there.) This is quite the most delightful small hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world.
It is the former city residence of the Etchart Family, once...

We spent two nights here and came back a week later for another night. If you do not know this is a hotel, you would never find it. But after you ring the bell and welcomed by the staff you will have an amazing experience in this beautiful mansion. We stayed the first two nights in a standard room, still...
