We stayed only one night. The size of the room was rather cramped, the bathroom was for midgets. Cleaning so and so. Decoration is aged. However it was security issues that bothered me the most. Even though Stellenbosch is a friendly and safe town it felt awkward leaving the car key to the receptionist who left in i a keyrack... More

We always appreciate our guests' feedback and would like to thank you for taking the time to do so. The Stellenbosch Hotel is located in a historic building and is decorated accordingly. I am sorry to hear that the room was not to your satisfaction, but I can assure you that they are all standard-sized rooms. Parking is unfortunately a... More

This is a very nice hotel with great staff, we stayed here in April for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Location is great, walking distance to everything, plenty of bars and restaurants around to pick from. While the rooms look a bit dated, that's not a bad thing. Our room was on the ground floor, very spacious and fine... More

We passed one night at the Stellenbosch Hotel and appreciated our stay. We occupied a large room on the ground floor, with access to the little garden where we took our breakfast.A little bit old fashioned with a not really modern bathroom but very clean and adapted to the historical character of the place! This Hotel is a historical building... More

There are some troublesome aspects to this hotel (the size of the rooms, the mediocre breakfast), but these are compensated for by the location, right at the centre of Stellenbosch. While we were there, a party of about 40 young Argentine rugby players and coaches were ataying in the hotel and, while this was a little noisy and caused some... More

Unlike other reviewers we didn't have a small bathroom, we had a good shower and we enjoyed the breakfast however our room (which we were told was a luxury room) was tiny, it wouldn't have been so bad if we were there for a weekend with 2 nights luggage but we are travelling for 2 weeks and if one of... This is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. The rooms are cosy, and have french doors opening onto small balconies. The air-con rattles a bit but gets the job done. The hotel has a lovely restaurant but is also on one of the main streets where there are other cafes and restuarants. Perfect location for walking around... More

Room was OK, quiet and spotlessly clean. Centrally located which is a big plus. The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. TV, Telephone and tea-making facilities good. Eggs are scrambled but probably powder. The service in the breakfast restaurant not too clever.

We did not stay in the hotel, but since we can't review the restaurant by itself we just write it here. We went on a stroll trough Stellenbosch in the evening and ended up eating at the Jan Cats bistro and we were extremely disappointed. First of all no one paid attention to us when we want to order drinks,... More

Excellent, centrally located hotel with great amenities. We stayed in the Stellenbosch Hotel for two nights and it was very pleasurable. We were offered a room in either the new wing or the old section, so we leapt at the chance to stay in the 300 year old room with private doors right out onto the central patio. The furnishings... The hotel is situated in an historic building in Stellenbosch. Everything you need is within walking distance. Hotel offers safe parking (something most other hotels don't). very quiet rooms with minibar, private bathroom, TV and coffee station. The restaurant offers huge meals at very low prices (try the finger food). Tip: Rent a small car as parking bays are small
