Just about 40 minutes from CapeTown, yet you feel a million miles away, I can not have asked for a better 3 night stay anywhere else. Starting with the amazing staff and their warm welcome to entering our amazing Luxury room with open en-suite, gas fire place and french doors opening to a beautiful big tree in the centre of... This hotel was pure luxury, from the beautiful rooms, bathrooms, views to the food and wine! We really enjoyed staying here, we were given a room upstairs in the furthest block from the restaurant. Which suited us fine. The views were stunning, we couldn't take enough photos! In the heart of the winelands I would not stay anywhere else! The... More

I enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon at the DV Hotel in 1980. The service and hospitality by the staff was wonderful. Everything was special ! What I can remember the food was well served and presented along with a huge room overlooking the valley. In 33 years it seems that the treatment you give to current guests hasn't change a bit... We stayed 3 nights at Devon Valley at the end of our trip to South Africa. The views are absolutely stunning, room was comfortable and food very good. But the best part of this lovely hotel are the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. A special mention must go to Christopher on reception who certainly went... More

My wife (azhootie on tripadvisor) and I stayed at this hotel in February and we were very impressed. When our daughter came for a visit from the US, we decided to go back and hoped that everything would still be the same. Our room this time was even more awesome than last time. It had a gas fireplace and a... More

Dear NicholasPovia and azhootie Such a pity I could not get to see you! But delighted we remain your favourite hotel. The room you stayed in was a Vineyard Luxury room, they are very cosy with the gas fire place. This was an upgrade as you are returning guests and we had the availability. Not always possible but we do... More

We canceled our reservations in Cape Town to stay longer and enjoy the views, good food, gracious staff and yes, wonderful South African wines. This is a great location to explore the wine country and, we found, an easy way to commute into Cape Town for the city experience too. We decided not to drive and the reservation staff was... More

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour of South Africa. Lovely room with huge bathroom and a terrace. Views delightful. Food in restaurant very good, and staff, as always in South Africa, charming. Wines excellent, as you would expect.

We stayed at Devon Valley for 4 nights with our 3 kids in two adjoining Vineyard rooms. It was a great base for exploring the Stellenbosch area and some fantastic vineyards (Dornier, Zorgvliet, Guardians Peak, Spier). The hotel has a quaint charm with beautiful, slightly wild gardens and fabulous views. The Vineyard luxury rooms were superb: spacious and well equipped.... More
