Spent 4 nights here as base for Cape Town exploration. Was a bit daunted when arrived on a very quiet Sunday afternoon. Room was shabby even though one of the better standard i.e. a more expensive one, with several things not working. Staff however were friendly and tried hard. The breakfasts were good, location OKish, if a little intimidating, as... More

Overall alright, breakfasts a little off... Especially the cold breakfasts, linen was a little unclean and the room smelled of smoke, although it was a non smoking room, however, it was good value for money, and all my problems with the establishment were quickly rectified. Centrally located and all the staff working there were friendly and accommodating.

Can't say anything about the main wing but the room we got in the annex was in very poor condition. We stayed in so many nice places during our stay in South Africa so this one is without a doubt our least favorite. The room was small, not finished (shelves hadn't been put up so there were holes in the... More

Bickley Terraces was quite nice! The HOSTS were a bit overwrought, but firendly and helpful . Our room was nice a acceptable clean (but not perfect, especially the bathroom. we heard that other standard or budeget rooms are not so nice, but our luxury room was nice. The staff was great, the breakfast also, There was enough parking place and... More

Have read other people's reviews, it seems we had a bad experience. We booked a room in Bicley Terraces as a last minute thing and were disappointed. We stayed in an annex room which was very bare, decorated in white and felt cold. Our bedding was dirty and we had to ask for it to be changed. The rest of... More

We arrived in South Africa not really knowing what to expect but this was a really good start. Finding the place wasn't too hard and the off-street parking with a security guard on duty 24/7 was a comforting sight when we had been told a few horror stories by a couple of folk (we needn't have worried on that score... First of all the cleanliness was not satisfying at all. The whole floor was full of dust, hairs on the bed and the sofa was dirty without a cover over it. The Room a so called Terrace Suite had dirty walls and needed refurbishment urgently. Why are there no sunbeds on the Terrace of a Terrace Suite?? We were on... More

Peaceful location, beautiful buildings that are tastefully furnished, staff that will do anything possible to help you, a beautifully presented and tasty breakfast (including a hot element) and deluxe rooms of a European 4* quality. What more could you ask for? Quite simply, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cape Town. I never felt unsafe walking around Bickley Street or... More

I totally loved the place, we were walking distance to everything. Derek was such a huge help on booking tours and suggesting spots that we should check out. If I plan on going back to SA i'm totally plan on staying there.

I stayed at Bickley Terraces earlier this week for 2 nights as I was down in Cape Town on business. Given what I paid for the room I was very pleasantly suprised! It was only a 10 minute drive from the CBD but I left the office late so arrived late so reception was closed. However, security was expecting me... More
