Stayed for a relaxing weekend in April with my two daughters. Could not believe the changes the new owners managed in such a short time! The villa had a warm and welcome feel and I felt right at home when I walked in. Everybody was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had wonderful dinners and sumptuous breakfast.... I am so surprised by what we have read here as we enjoyed the guest house very much. We stayed here a few years ago and yes we got to see new born ostriches being born in a large nursery and yes, we were shown into the wine cellars and tasted the wine made on the premises so until recently... More

This is a very quiet countryside villa. We receive a warm welcome by the owner. We visit his own ostrich farm and he explain to us all of the process method. Very nice sight. Good overall experience. I stay there for one night with my brother for the World Cup (june 2010).

We stayed at the guesthouse from the 31/12/2011-02/01/2012. Sometimes one reads reviews and hopes that maybe "that was a once-off bad experience" because the pictures and description of the establishment looks so nice on the internet. Well don't get caught with this one...I'm sure it was very nice a few years ago when it was rated by the council, but... More

We stayed for a night in September 2011 during our trip to South Africa. We had dinner at the property as well. Dinner was okay but not great. We didn't give them much notice so perhaps they didn't have stuff available for a better meal? 1st course was what appeared to be a canned tuna mixed with mayo as appetizer... More

I am surprised by the earlier reviews, we stayed for a night on the way to Stellenbosch. The proprietor was friendly and stta and chatted with us, the rooms are a little basic but nevertheless very comfortable (tv's need to be relocated so can be seen from the bed !) breakfast was very good. As far as I am concerned... More

When you first drive into the gardens at Thylitshia you feerl that you might enjoy your stay. Of the 7 hotels in which we stayed in South Africa this had the third best garden. However then you notice the stained exterior paint work and begin to have doubts. You are shown to your room.First we were placed in the wrong... More

All comments relate to room number 6. After struggling to find any available accommodation in Oudtshoorn we found this property and booked two nights. After arriving it soon became apparent why it had been available. The room itself was very small and all fixtures and fittings appeared to be very old and generally in a poor state. Not only did... I would like to take time and respond to the above alligations. Oudtshoorn did received a lot of rain during Nov/Dec 07. On average we recieve about 300ml of rain a year. During these 2 months alone, the total rainfall was +/- 370ml, much more than the average 100ml for both months. Roads were flooded, some wiped away, guests were... More
