Situated halfway between Sedgefield and Knysna, Blackwaters Lodge is some 10 kilometres inland from Buffelsbaai (Buffalo Bay) on the Goukamma river. The lodge has several acres of gardens plus a 9 hole maashi golf course surrounded by natural forest and farms. Canoe hire for residents is cheap and the weir allows easy paddling. 10 days of beach, lagoon, sunshine and the perfect hosts. Lara and her husband does a great job of being warm friendly and welcoming. My husband and I spend only 2 days at the Black river lodge to celebrate our honeymoon. But what an amazing 2 days it was. And it was with tears in my eyes that we had to leave. Pam and Colin are the perfect hosts - warm and friendly and helpful and attentive. We stayed 5 days in the rooms overlooking the mashie golf course and came back a week later because we enjoyed it so much.
