It's been a nice stay in the hotel. Room was in the fifth floor, unfortunately not with sight of the table mountain. Decoration was modern, very cool shower. What I really liked: Breakfast in front of the fishes, free internet (but you had to get a code after using up 35 MB traffic), the location (well situated more or less... more

At the top of long street, easy to walk down to long street, bar is quirky and rooms are just big enough to stay for 4 nights, there is a small pool and deck which is nice to chill out. The room was really quiet and had a great view of table mountain. Easy to get cabs and to hop... more

Reasonably priced (I paid £65/night) hotel that is within easy walking distance of Long Street’s bars, as well as museums and government buildings and the fort. The hotel has attempted a funky vibe and I think they have achieve this in the bar/restaurant (try their milkshakes). However, maybe they went a little bit too far (where funky meets tacky) in... more

I booked at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice for 4 days in September on the basis of all the good reviews i read on Tripadvisor . Unfortunately, i had to check out after one day and move to another hotel. The rooms at Fire & Ice are very small and extremely average. Firstly, the rate this hotel charges, being... more

Great decor in the common areas and the rooms are very well appointed but small. Situated at the top of the CBD, it is a good spot for the Kloof Rd nightlife which is cosmo style cafes , restaurants and bars. Staff cou7ld be more attentive but overall good experience. more

Stayed here for 4 nights and was very impressed. Particular praise to the young people on reception, nothing is too much trouble for them. They aim to please even down to checking in on line for us the day before departure. The guys on the door are also very pleasant and helpful. Rooms, though small are very well equipped and... more

I found this hotel on Tripadvisor and would def recommend it , clean , great staff , good location with some very cool touches. You `ll need a car but we had no trouble parking right outside. Staff left us treats in the room on my b,day and when we checked out they spotted we`d booked for a extra day... more

We have just spent a week at the hotel and had a fantastic time. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It is centrally located, with Long street just on the door and a 10 minute cab ride (or 30 minute walk) to the Waterfront. We also booked tours via Oliver to the Winelands and Cape Peninsula which were very good.... more

I had heard that Fire and Ice! was a good place to stay and it lived up to those statements. The rooms were clean and the hotel is in a good location about 5 minutes walk from Long Street. The area is also fairly safe at night and is near a supermarket, a laundry and an internet cafe. The food... more

Fire and Ice is very centrally located in Cape Town. My favorite part about the hotel was its proximity to Kloof Street, which is within minutes of walking. There are a ton of great restaurants, cafes, bars and grocery stores on Kloof Street and Long Street so you get a feel of what it's like to live and work in... more
