Fountains Hotel gets really mixed reviews and having stayed there its easy to see why. I stayed there for 3 nights on business, I also had some holiday time in capetown and chose to stay in camps bay prior to transferring to the Fountains as it was close to my office (I recommend bay hotel if you fancy a splurge,... more

I am not one for writing bad reviews and all and often question how bad something was when others do. However, this hotel was awful....it was the first hotel we stayed at during our 2 week S. Africa vacation and it was not a good start. First of all the location is central and we found it convenient when we... more

We stayed at this hotel over New Year so when we initially arrived the hotel was full. The only time we noticed this though was at breakfast time which was like feeding time at the zoo! The food quality and service however made it worth the wait. The room we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable. It had a... more

No further comments on the hotel itself, the other comments more or less cover everything you want to know, but I must mention a serious security problem and warn you for it. The dining room has a large glass wall with two glass doors of which one is always open and the other locked, everybody can walk in and out.... more

This hotel is within walking distance of lots attractions in Cape Town, 15 minutes to the V&A waterfront and minutes to Green Market Square. The paintwork in the rooms is a little shabby but it is spotlessly clean. The room we had was a good size (not huge but big enough) it had AC, tea making facilities, hair dryer, safe.... more

It's pretty grim from the exterior. Inside was alright. The room was a little grimy and some repairs were needed on the door and curtains. There was no aircon, so it got very warm and stuffy. The location was good for me, as I was attending a conference about five minutes walk away. It's about 30 minutes stroll to the... more

The rooms are ok, but the hotel itself over promises on their website. The pool and fitness center are tiny. Unless you are on an upper floor, you may have a view of the bus station. The rooms have been updated in some areas, the bathroom was nice, but there are many areas of the room and the hotel that... more

I am a seasoned traveller and have lived in Canada, USA, china, whole of Asia, Middle East and now Africa but let me tell you I had the worst experience in this hotel. For me hotels are just a place to put your stuff in..Even then I could not justify myself staying in this hotel: First of all : I... more
