This place is great, particularly if you're under 23 and on your gap year. We're a little older (nearly 30), and we felt it a bit! The staff are lovely and very helpful, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming and the rooms are fantastic. It's also very cheap. However....there are a few things that stop me recommending it. Firstly the... more

Dear HappyHoliday Thank you for the review and feedback. We appreciate the feedback and take your comments and recommendation seriously. In answer to your review: I think it's important to visitors to Cape Town to not just stay on the beachfront, in a resort type environment. The city is fun, funky, and full of energy and a great place to...

We stayed for 12 days at the Daddy Long Legs apartments and were quite pleased with the experience. The pros: affordable, modern, trendy, comfortable, clean, secure, friendly staff The cons: noisy (depending on the flat) We were looking for an affordable apartment in the city centre, which is exactly what we got. After reading other visitors' reviews on Trip Advisor... more

For central location this is the place to be! We had 2 nights here in the Protea room and loved it - you have to see the rooms to believe them. We watched the Springboks Rugby team Bus Tour from the balcony here - Long St rocked! The hotel itself was not noisy by night (our room was at the... more

Having just returned from a 3 week trip around South Africa we decided to treat ourselves and stay at Daddy Long Legs. What a treat. The hotel is excellent value for money, in a superb location and very funky. Each room is completely different and designed by a different artist. Sergio was a great host and we really enjoyed ourselves.... more

I booked online and was led to believe we would be in the apartments. On arrival it turned out we were in the photobooth room in the hotel. Lots of stairs to the room at the top, and very small room, with few facilities. Location is in central CBD which is not best for tourists, better of in Camps Bay/Clifton,... more

Great location if you want to be in the city centre, close to a lot of good bars and restaurants, and our room was surprisingly quiet for being so much in the middle of things. It was good value, but the room we had was extremely small, with no other furniture apart from the two beds - not even a... more

We were supposed to stay in one of DLL's self-catering apartments for 4 nights. However, on the morning of the 2nd day, we arrived back from breakfast to find our room infested with cockroaches. Not small ones, but HUGE cockroaches. The kind with WINGS! Now, we are from NYC so we are no stranger to cockroaches, but these were the... more

Dear Sweetmags This is indeed a disturbing tale and not one that seems to have had a terribly happy ending for you! The owners and management would like to apologise for your cockroach nightmare and we are sorry that your initial complaint was not responded to immediately - and with a can of insecticide. Please be assured that this is...

I stayed in both the Daddy Long legs hotel and their self catering apartments in November of this year, and had two very different experiences. We stayed in the apartments for 4 nights, starting on a Friday night. The whole apartment, including the bedroom, overlooked Long Street, and unfortunately this meant the noise levels at night were just unbearable. Long... more

We stayed 4 nights at a Daddy Long Legs Apartment in July, 2006. It was a fantastic apartment--beautifully furnished, contemporary African, exposed brick, had a washing machine, hot shower, and a French-style balcony overlooking the best part of Long Street. We felt safe in the apartment--it had burglar bars on the outside door and an alarm system. It was also... more
