Having spent some days on Safari and three days on Rovos Rail, it was nice to have some down time in Cape Town. What a superb guesthouse, thanks to Eric and Lisa for making us feel at home! Comfy bed, wonderful shower, nothing was too much trouble. Oh, and the view from the balcony in room 10 was just beautiful!... More

We had three nights here at the start of our holiday. What a great start. It might be nestled in a residential area but this is a great period property. All the staff were very helpful and our room spacious, clean and well equiped. As previous reviewers mention we were given sound advice on where to eat etc. There is... More

We recently stayed at the Cape Riviera for 4 nights and couldn't recommend this guest house highly enough. From the outset, Lisa and Owen were extremely helpful and full of advice and guidance to ensure we got the most out of the time we had in Cape Town. They made excellent restaurant recommendations (especially Societi - our favourite of the... More

We stayed at the Cape Riviera for 3 nights at the start of our tour of RSA. We hired a car for out two weeks from the airport and with the directions given by the hotel it was easy to find. The hotel was very good, although our room (3) in the main house was a little frayed around the... More

Stayed at the Cape Riviera in October 2010 for the first two nights of our honeymoon in South Africa. It’s been a while but we were so impressed that I had to post some comments. Thankfully, I kept a daily diary. For handiness, most visitors to Cape Town stay and socialise by the Waterfront but it has something of a... More

Cape Riviera surpassed our expectations in beauty, service, comfort, delicious breakfasts, special touches, and helpfulness. Lisa and Owen, with help from Samantha and Eric, saw to our every need, providing information and advice on where to go and what to see, calling taxis, reserving restaurants, helping with travel arrangements, and more. Our room was lovely and immaculate with all the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in November 2011. We thought the staff (especially Lisa) were very friendly and helpful. They gave wonderful restaurant recommendations, one of which was possibly our favorite dinner in Cape Town. The hotel is like an old charming colonial house, very warm and intimate. The room was large and had a wonderful bathroom (the bathtub... More

We stayed for 5 nights in Jan this year. The room was a very high standard and breakfast equally good. The manager there was very helpful in recommending resteraunts to us and he made lots of phone calls to book us taxi's etc. We got engaged while there and were surprised with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket... We stayed here for 5 nights at the begining of December 2011. Having never visited Cape Town before, we had some doubts about staying in a hotel away from the Waterfront, but after taking some expert advice from our travel agent, 2by2 Holidays, we decided to stay here and we were so glad that we did. The hotel is situated... More

We stayed four nights at the Cape Riviera, which is situated in the Oranjezicht neighbourhood, almost at the foot of Table Mountain. It’s away from all the bustle of the city, which wouldn’t suit everyone, but if you want peace and quiet in Cape Town then it’s great. The hotel can easily arrange a taxi to take you into town...
