This beautiful and family-run lodge offers 5 or 6 nice rooms and a pool with a stunning view on Camps Bay and Lion's Head at affordable rates. Nice staff, everything is very clean and save - also for single female travellers. It's just a 3 minute drive from the sea and 5 minutes from the center. During day you can... More

Hi Marcus, I enjoyed the stay last year in March with you so much, I decided to come back this year again. Your friendly and very obliging kind has impressed me very much. All your helpful suggestions have made my stay to an extraordinary holiday. Your 24 hrs readiness for your guest gave me an extra feeling of safety. The... More

Myself and a friend stayed at Camelthorn in November 2010 and had an absolutely fantastic holiday. The Lodge is in a stunning location, and is excellent value for money. The views are amazing and Marcus and the team made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly and it was as if it was our own home.... More

I am absolutely amazed by the critisism this hotel has received, although, I can see from the last response that some people just go on holiday to moan. Anyway, we have been to Camel Thorn 4 times now, as a couple, with family and hired all the rooms as part of a wedding and I have nothing but positive things... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in November 2010, having read the great reviews on this site. We were disapointed. We arranged a transfer fromt he airport with Marcus. We were picked up by a chain smoking driver in a 'vintage' (old & smelly) car for our transfer...although, by the time we were in the car the... More

Camelthorne Lodge calls itself a bed and breakfast but it is far more than that. Whilst you get the services of a B&B (great breakfast, rooms cleaned, beds made etc) it is much more relaxed. Marcus and his staff make eveyone feel really welcome. Guests have use of a well equipt kitchen and a fab open plan dining and sitting... More
