This hotel had all the facilities and comforts you will ever need. Rooms are spacious and comfortable although decor is slightly dated. Breakfast buffet is unbelievable and the best I have ever experienced. Dinner in the hotel is also lovely with great service. We were there during cool rainy weather so didn't get the best of the poolside and didn't... More

The ultimate best place to stay while in Sun City. Try to book ahead, otherwise the rates get horrendous. This place guarantees a surreal Disneylike experience coupled with new-age luxury, as perceived by the designer. It is a fun park meets luxury lodge place, where the gypsum statues mix with real zebra skin armchairs and chandeliers. Hotel disposes of free... More

The first time I went to South Africa must have been 20 years ago, and the Palace of the Lost City was new and a quite special place to go to. I was impressed by this unique hotel. 20 years later, in 2012 I came back and was disappointed as it definately needs big renovation works. The palace looks old, it... More

We stayed one night at the Palace of the Lost City Hotel in Sun City. You approach Sun City and have to enter through a manned gate. You have to choose between Resident, or Guest (I think the term was) Visitor. It turns out that if you're staying at any of the 4 hotels there, you're a resident. The other... More

A truly magnificent, breathtakingly beautiful hotel. From the friendly, personalised greeting, to the stunningly appointed room, our stay will always be one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa. Afternoon tea as was a delight, massages by the pool and the friendly, helpful staff made our time at the palace a dream! As we had a late flight... More

I cannot fault this hotel or the venue - I agree it is expensive for the average person but it is worth every cent I paid. I was definitely blown away from the time I arrived to the time I left. The valet service to the porters to the receptionist to the lady that escorted me to my room to... More

We stayed here for one night after we got married in South Africa in April. The service was second to none. The decor was incredible. The pool area was fabulous. In fact, I can't fault anything! The breakfast buffet was out of this world! This place is pricey, but for a treat...worth it! Stay one or two nights to experience... More

First of all the whole place is man made so if u are expecting something like a African wildness trip this might not be your cup of tea. U need a long ride from Johannesburg airport to get there and the trip is not scenery. The hotel is magnificent but is dated, a good renovation will do. The casino is... More

This is a fantastic location for a Hotel and has the potential to be a great Hotel but it just doesn't quite get there. Inflexible staff along with inflexible attitudes and a lack of some luxury facilities leaves gaps in the overall package that means it doesn't quite justify the price tag compared with other hotels in the resort. Yes it's expensive but you get what you pay for. The Palace is as imposing as ever. The staff friendlier than ever and the service is truly 5 star. Breakfast is a feast fit for a king and you still get everything fresh, even if you show up at 10.55am. We really loved every moment. Three days of magic.
