We spent a 2 night weekend here which was certainly one of our nicer stays from a Lodge point of view. Sadly the structure is dated and is in dire need of renewal. The room was spacious and clean with a private porch overlooking the lake. For a couple seeking privacy this is certainly the place to visit. The bathroom... More

We stayed at Hulala Lodge on 23 March '13 as overnight guests for a wedding. We were booked into room 26, please ensure that you specifically request to NOT stay in that pokey room. A 4 star resort with a 2 star room at a 4 star price. We filled out the guest questionnaire and have had no response. Very... More

If you don't want to stay in a hotel room, Hookthorn self catering cottage is ideal. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 en suite, swimming pool, DSTV & a wonderfull view of the Da Gama dam. The bird life is amazing & there are Zebra & a family of Giant Mongoose on the Estate. The security is good & one can... More

We stayed at Hulala Lakeside Lodge for 2 nights and had a quiet, relaxing stay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The matress we had in our room must have been the most comfortable I ever slept on! The breakfast, dinner and bar menu is simple but the food is tasty and the service efficient and friendly. The lodge is... More

This place is so worth the drive. Relaxing, beautiful, breath taking views. The staff are welcoming, very friendly and very caring. The sunset cruise is peaceful and pleasant. We woke up every morning viewing the lake, the mist and the flakes of the morning sun.

We stayed 3 nights at Hulala Lodge in one of a terrace of 6 Lakeside Suites. Hulala is unpretentious - not a modern contemporary resort but rather an elegent and gracious country lodge with lots of character set in luxuriant well tended gardens and filled with comfortable furnishings and artefacts in a series of cosy public rooms. Pool and terrace... More

We travelled for 2 weeks in December to various bush and game lodges as part of our annual holiday. Hulala was our first stop-over for 3 nights and we were quite disppointed with the lodge as we felt it was not 4* quality - therefore my overal rating of 3 stars. The rooms are pretty but ours smelt musty. The... More

I have been to Hulala 3 times the past 2 years and it is simply the best place to stay if you are heading to the Kruger Park. The food is excellent and the service is out of this world. The ambiance is like a fairy tale and Diane and her team is walking the extra mile for their guests.... More

We spent 3 night over Christmas at Hulula and were very happy with our choice. The staff are exceptionally friendly and well trained which makes for a relaxed atmosphere. Our room overlooked the dam and was very comfortable. King size bed, crisp white linen. Nice to have the "turn down" service which has disappeared in most hotels. The bathroom was... More
