If, however, you want to experience the warmth and hospitality of a staff that care, and you want to feel close to nature, then do come here. Staff very keen to please, but the catering/service side overly so. Location is great, but you certainly pay for it. The rangers are very skilled & informative. Some of the staff seem keen on moving on to less micro-managed venues. The food was largely ok...British Pub Grub quality. Take your own wine...it is VERY expensive at the Lodge.

We have stayed at many beautiful places around the World and Makakatana is up amongst the best. The Location, the honeymoon villa, the food, the staff, the brilliant ranger were all excellent. We stayed for four nights and our only complaint was that we had to leave!!
