we recently took family from switzerland to Mpumalanga and stayed over at the Bundu lodge for 4 days. What amazing service and friendly staff! The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the game drive was wonderful! Everything is well maintained and in good condition which is really good for such a large lodge. The restaurant has a lovely deck... More

There's nothing outstanding about Bundu other than that it is reliable. The rooms are average - some even a little shoddy. The restaurant won't win any prizes. And the prices are a little above justified. But it doesn't get suddenly worse. It's always the same and you know what to expect - the same stuff as last time. That's why... More

My family, as well as my wife's parents from the States, stayed at the Bundu Lodge during late December 2012. This was our first trip to South Africa since moving to Mozambique in early 2012. After a three day drive to get to Nelspruit we were tired and ready to get some rest. Our accommodations were booked in July and... More

Stayed here with my mother, brothers and sisters and extended family in Nov 2010 for a family wedding that was held in the chapel and the reception in the function room. Had a lovely, relaxing stay. Found the rooms comfortable and well decorated, not too fussy. The beds were very comfortable, we slept very well. My mother and I shared... More

This lodge is set outside of Nelspruit on the road to Whiteriver. About 15 minutes to Nelspruit .The grounds are farm like and beautiful with bunnies, ponies and peacocks walking around. But the rooms are not stylish and comes over 'without soul' -and this was the luxury room. The standard was just that-standard. We had to carry up our own... More

This is a good hotel if you need to stay in Nelspruit. It is located on a busy road, but up on a hillside so the car noise is not a problem. Mini horses, ostriches and peacocks roam the property, which make for a natural alarm clock if you want to be woken at 6am! Rooms are simple, but beds... More

This is real value for money and a perfectly located, just between Whiteriver and Nelspruit. The rooms are clean and tidy. You get that peaceful out of the city feeling, away from the everyday noise. A good stayover experience.

This is an exellent place to stop over before you go to the Kruger as it is close enough to be the first car into the park the next day, This place is cheap and clean and has all these animals walking around, pretty cool.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Situated within the Bundu Rockies Wildlife Estate, home to more than 30 animals and over 300 bird species, Bundu Country Lodge offers guests and visitors a taste of the Lowveld life and, is only a stone’s throw away from the city.WELCOME TO BUNDU LODGE With superb cuisine and service, Bundu boasts 114 rooms (almost half of them 4 star grading) in addition to a much larger a la carte restaurant, as well as 10 fully-equipped conference venues and two quaint chapels – one indoors and one outdoors at the ‘wedding rocks’ – for the ultimate in romantic weddings. Bundu’s proximity to Nelspruit and White River as well as the Kruger National Park and the Drakensberg, has contributed to making it the local lodge of choice. With all its tame and beautiful animals at the Bundu Animal Touch Farm, it really is a paradise for the children, making it ideal for the family getaway. Bundu’s success story could be largely attributed to its friendly and helpful staff members. Most of them have been part of the Bundu family for more than 15 years, which in turn contributes immensely to the homely atmosphere one experiences at the lodge. Another stabilizing factor is that the Bundu property has not changed hands from the beginning (which was in 1981) when Mr. Willem Janson bought the land and went to reside there. AccommodationThe tranquility and splendor of Bundu Country Lodge is beyond doubt a revitalizing experience, offering a wide variety of accommodation from single rooms, twin/double and family rooms, accommodating up to five people, with en-suite bathroom, TV with M-net (DSTV in restaurant). Our new 48 luxury units have proved even more popular, with all amenities, air-conditioning, DSTV, romantic double showers, excellent views and all of this set in beautiful surroundings with breathtaking views. Bundu is children friendly. We are sure that once you have had an opportunity to view our facilities, you will realize what an ideal and unique property it is to compliment your very special time away from home. ... more   less
