After several times to South Africa for business, finally I got the decision to stay over the weekend and spend a couple of days visiting the Kruger Park. The Abangane Lodge is just outside the Park area; for us, arriving late in the evening, it represented the only option since you cannot enter the Kruger after a fixed time in... More

We had a very warm welcome at the Lodge last time we went to the Kruger! Klaus, one of the owners, showed us around and made us feel comfortable. He has a great blog where he usually posts some of this recipes prepared at the lodge. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Dinner at the Lodge was excellent! The dogs are... More

On arrival we were greeted by Klaus who showed us around. The place met our expectations fully (we chose the guest house because of the photos and travel reviews of previous guests). The view is magnificient and so is the food. The price of the 3 course dinner compares well with prices of other restaurants, of the same standard (if... More

Dear padbelg Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and the dinners we presented. Pro's: - good location, near town and lots of tourists attractions in the area - dinners are very good, with great care taken by owners to ensure everyone is catered for (as it is a set menu) - nice setting overlooking a valley with game farm next door Con's: - rooms look a bit tired and can do with an... As soon as we arrived, Klaus, Ridwaan and the dogs came out to greet us, help with luggage and show us around. The rooms were nicely furnished, with an African influence and had a fan and air con for the hot climate. The bathroom had a fab rain style shower and everything was very clean. Each room also had outdoor... More

We spend only one night in this BB on our way from Johannesburg to Orpen Gate. We felt we should have spent another day there as it is a beautiful BB. It is a classic old farmhouse which is lovingly restored. The bedrooms are very nice; the only thing is that the AC might be a little inadequate if the... More

After staying in three different guesthouses we ended our round trip in the Krueger Park while staying at the guestlodge Abangane in Hazyview the very best place we visited. Abangane means "Friends" and this was absolutely the case. Greeted by Ridwaan after the arrival we were immediately caught by the phenomenal breathtaking view over the bushland near Hazyview. The rooms... More

A short sand road from the main road leads to the lodge entrance where we were able to see giraffes, buck and zebra on the neighbouring property. On our arrival we were greeted by Ridwaan and the friendly (but not obtrusive) dogs – Zeena (one of the dogs) was often sleeping outside I door which we loved. Both Ridwaan and... More

Abangane is situated on the Sabie road out of Hazyview. The house is accessed via a rough dirt track, just short of a KM long. The owners keep large dogs (German Shepards) as pets, but they are very placid and friendly dogs, and not to be feared. The pool has an amazing view over the valley and the gardens are... More

We were greeted by Klaus on arrival and he showed us where everything is situated in the rooms and the comunal areas. We did not eat at the guest house and no recommendation regarding restaurants was made nor were we asked what we had planned for dinner. The rooms are basic and clean. The wooden door and window frames need... More

Thank you very much for your review and we are sad to hear that you did not enjoy the stay with us to the fullest. We are rather surprised at your review as your husband stayed with us some time ago and that was the reason for you to book with us. He obviously enjoyed his stay. Nothing has changed... More
