We stayed in the safari tents which we the cleanest places we had stayed in Kruger (also stayed in huts in Pretoriuskop and Ollifants). Whist we were in Kruger this Spring Around Lower sabie was definately where all the animals were hanging out. We self drove the whole trip and were out from sunrise until the camps shut. Our personal... more

We booked in at the reception about 13:30 hours. Arriving at our tented camp, there was no linen in the bedroom, no pillow and mattress protectors. You don’t want to know how filthy they are if one doesn’t use protectors. Cleaning stuff and private items from the cleaning lady lay at the deck. Returning to the reception, they where not... more

My wife and I stayed two nights at Lower Sabie camp. We reserved a platform tent with attached bathroom-with partial view of the river. These platform tents rent for about $65.00 US / night . Wild baboon troops roam around the camp tents during the daytime. Numerous hippos leave the river to feed at night all around the camp-you can... more

I had the absolute pleasure of staying in tent/cabin 20 in Lower Sabie Restcamp and I can only say that it was one of the best things I have ever done. The restcamp itself is in a good area, with various roads leading off it for good 2-3 hour drives. There is a great restaurant/shop/viewing area overlooking the river and... more

We loved staying in the "tent" cabins. They had wooden floors and decks, patio kitchenettes, were elevated up off the ground, but still gave you that "camping in the open air feel with the canvas covers. A perfect compromise for the family who wants to be out in nature but comfy too. more

I would highly recommend the Lower Sabie Rest Camp to those who wish to stay in southern Kruger. Myself and two friends had a fabulous time and were able to see the ‘Big Five’ from this camp, as well as many other animals and birdlife. We entered Kruger via the Crocodile Bridge Gate which was easily located when driving from... more

We stayed in the traditional two bedroom family accommodation which, while a little spartan, chimed with the overall ethos of the game reserve, and was very comfortable with an enclosed BBQ area. The pool is very pleasant but the best aspect of any stay at Lowern Sabie is its setting on the banks of a glorious African River with game... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Lower Sabie in April 2006. The camp provides just about everything you could want, including a full-service convenience store, takaways stand, and full-service restaurant. I agree with the previous reviewer in that the restaurant seemed a bit pricey, but with the convenience store we were able to affordably self-cater. We stayed in a Safari... more

We stayed here for a night in one of the "Huts" in March 2005 - the huts themselves are fairly basic, but it is the location that really makes it. Our hut had 2 good firm beds and a good sized bathroom with a big and well pressurised shower. The fridge was outside on the veranda in order to reduce... more
