I stayed at Hoyo Hoyo in May 2012. From the welcoming smiles, the efforts of the staff ( Rodgers, Given, Ralph) the delicious and plentiful food ( best pannacotta ever) and a very knowledgeable guide in Salani, I cannot recommend Hoyo Hoyo enough.

The staff at Hoyo Hoyo are fabulous, so friendly and knowledgeable and made my stay in Kruger NP the highlight of my 3 week stay in Southern Africa. Salani our guide/tracker found all the of the Big 5 for us in the first hour of our dawn trek, and then we saw so much more. The rooms are lovely, clean...

The staff is very obliging and helpful. On the last day we wanted to leave early and they prepared us a very nice breakfast takeaway.
The guides are very good and knowledgable, and the resident waterhall is very nice, we actually saw elifants during brakfast and dinner! and we had an impala at our porch several times!
Two things that...

Spent 3 days in this relaxing lodge, the setting, style and relaxed atmosphere make for an excellent stay. While the food is very tasty it does get a little "samey" by the end of the stay! The rooms are tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with a extra large bed! The main highlight of our stay was the fact that we...

This hotel is really like a dream come true! The location, the service, the design, all is perfect.
The tsonga filosophie is to keep nature as the no. 1 priority, so there are no fences around the lodge. This makes the experience even more special.
We had the best ranger ever for our game drives, Dennis. He makes is fun...

We very much wanted to like this place considering the good reviews and that on first impressions, it appeared warm and inviting. However, our problems with hoya hoya, especially the level of service started almost immediately.
While all the staff were very warm and friendly, they seemed incompetent in everything else. they did not seem to be able to confirm...

The staff personified "Hoyo Hoyo" which means "welcome" to the Tsonga people. This lodge took some serious getting to, but was well worth the journey. The lodge has a mix of experiences: family style meals for a nice mix of social interaction with other travelers (there are only 6 total chalets, so it's still pretty low key) yet individual chalets...

Hoyo hoyo is a friendly, relaxed hotel for a safari
the rooms are good, spacious and clean, the communal area is nice, the staff are very friendly and the trackers are great!
The style of Hoyo hoyo is quite communal in the sense you all eat round a couple of big tables, that might not appeal to some people but...

The Hoyo Hoyo was unlike anything I have experienced and I have traveled to many countries. I think the best part of the Hoyo Hoyo was the staff. They are from a local tribe and they really offer you that South African experience. They are so nice and they work so hard to give you the best. The huts are...

So often the memories of a good previous visit are tarnished when you choose to return. Not so for us at Hoyo Hoyo. We were there in Feb 09 and had a wonderful safari experience. Back we came in November and everything was as we wished, except the weather! Rain for four days and four nights but even that did...
