Stayed here on business and was very impressed. Great location, service and management. We were only there one night but it was great. Had lunch in the restaurant and drinks in the bar and was good. Bfast good and staff well trained. Rooms very well appointed although they need blackout curtains- rooms are light at sunrise. Blessing our driver was... More

Wow! What an amazing hotel. Beautiful old world charm with highly trained staff, a magnificant breakfast and breathtaking views -what better combination could you ask for! A visit to the library is a must -what a gem! Restaurants are top-class and highly recommended. It is truly a hotel that offers and caters for everyone. The Spa is outstanding and they... More

We visited the Oyster Box to enquire about High Tea and what a surprise we had when we were met like royalty. From the doorman to the front desk to the staff on the floor to the waiters. A waiter by the name of Meshack assisted us. He did not make the booking himself but stayed with us all the... More

The Oysterbox Hotel came highly recommended as THE place to stay when travelling to Umhlanga Rocks or really the general area around Durban, and it did not disappoint. Its location, right by the iconic lighthouse, with beautiful views down the coast of the Durban skyline in the distance, and scenic dunes and greenery a short walk up the beach, is... More

A rare combination when a hotel can boast excellence in both leisure and business optics. Well done to the GM Mr Wayne Cotzee and his well trained and professional team.

I stayed at the Oyster Box hotel for 2 nights and it is absolutely exceptional in every regard. From the outstanding service to beautiful rooms to cosy in-house guest cinema this has to be the best hotel in South Africa. Although room rates are high, the service and quality are in line with the price. It's worth the trip to... More

I was most impressed with the Oyster Box Hotel and its staff. A number of factors contributed to the service being excellent. I have been travelling with a baby/toddler for four years and have been to New York, Chicago, Rome, and Venice, done a trip round South Africa and been on a Star Clipper cruise through Croatia. Ihave consequently stayed... More

From the moment we walked into the hotel lobby we were greeted by an extremely friendly and professional team who made such a good impression. And this impression lasted until we were waved off on our trip around Kwazulu Natal 3 days later. The hotel has this classic colonial feel situated away from the Durban city on a wonderful stretch... My wife and I stayed at The Oyster Box for a couple of days in early March, following excellent experiences at The Twelve Apostles in Cape Town, which is part of the same hotel group. The Oyster Box is beautiful and the rooms sumptuous. There are lots of staff who are very friendly and attentive, but we had a suspicion... More

Thank you for taking the time to write and advise of your experience at the Hotel. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay, however dissapointed that the food was not up to your expectation. I have advised the Executive Chef of your experience. Kind Regards Wayne Coetzer General Manager More
