what better fantasy for younfg kids then lving in a theme park!gold reef city hotel offers that. i stayed here a few years ago when it was a protea hotel..well its been tken over by southern sun..so its been modernised extensively,rooms are completely different to how they used to be,and in some ways a lot better,in some ways they have... More

The Protea Gold Reef City was the only dark spot on an otherwise wonderful South African vacation. First off, the staff insisted it was on the N3 highway each of the 5 times we called, even though I kept saying "are you sure it's not the M3?". As a result, we crisscrossed Joburg 3 times (= 3 hours) for nothing.... More
