If you think of going to this place. THINK AGAIN!! What a complete waste of money. We were soo looking forward to our safari at Marks Camp and were very excited to spend 2 nights at this so called 5 star game resereve. It was an average safari and although the staff we very pleasant, the after service at checkout... More

We had been corresponding with this gentleman prior to his decision to post this comment on Tripadvisor. The facts are this guest was happy with his stay at Lalibela and he confirmed this to us in his correspondence. The real issue here is that this guest has with Lalibela relates to a refund that was made to him by us... More

There isn't one major thing I can fault about our stay at the amazing Lalibela Game Reserve. We stayed at Mark's Camp and had an excellent time. We arrived as early as we could and spent some time down on the pool deck next to the waterhole below the lodge. Unfortunately nothing came down to drink, but it was great... More

We were excited to go, had high expectations-and STILL were blown away! We stayed in Treetops but saw all of the camps-and the unique feel from each. The food was amazing, and we enjoyed drinks around the fire. All of the staff was quite friendly and outgoing to make sure you enjoyed your stay. The game drives were quite succesfull!... More

Fantastic reserve - stayed at Treetops which was 'amazing'. Rooms - tented sides, thatched roofs - definitely a luxurious safari feel. Staff attentive and friendly, giving guests both service and time! Craig our ranger was informative, fun and great company both on safari and at meal times. We saw all the 'big five' and much more. Fulfilled all our expectations... More

Lalibela fulfilled my lifelong dream of going on safari in Africa...simply put, best safari experience, saw the big five up close and personal, tracked Cheetah, learned so much about animal preservation from our great guide (Craig) and were spoiled by the most amazing hospitality and accommodations. Treetops is like heaven on Earth...Go!

My wife and I and our two children (9 and 13) spent two nights at Lalibela (Mark's Camp) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, with some great game viewing including a lioness chasing some buck which was totally thrilling. Great team at the Camp who couldn't do enough for us, including lending us some fleeces for the cold early morning starts. Highly... More

A simply stunning luxurious back-to-nature private game reserve. Great photo opportunities! The rangers and staff could not have done more to make our stay so enjoyable and memorable. The food was expertly cooked and delicious. Our ranger introduced us to a local snack delicacy - termites - interesting, but a bit too sandy for my taste! I would not hesitate... More

This was our first safari and it has certainly set the benchmark high. Not knowing quite what to expect in spite of reading reviews here, we were very pleased with the whole experience from the welcome arrival to the knowledgeable and very friendly staff. And of course the animals! Lots of little extras like hot flannels and a warming drink... More

After a few visits to Lalibela it is definitely one of my favorite spots to visit in the Eastern Cape. Upon arrival the staff are welcoming and helpful. Did not have to lift a single bag. The live marimba band was a neat experience and really set a vibe for the stay and rid our minds of the hours of... More

We ended our honeymoon with a 3-day trip to Lalibela and, even though we were unlucky with the weather, we still saw everything we could have hoped for - cheetah, lion, giraffe, hippo, elephant, rhino, a couple of shy buffalo and great herds of beautiful deer. Surprises came in the form of smaller animals - a couple of playful mongoose,... More

It is always gratifying to see a comment where the person "gets" what we try so hard to achieve at Lalibela - a relaxed & personalised, yet 100% professional, service. We believe that great food & game-viewing, comfortable accommodation etc is meaningless without the levels of service that we strive to provide. The writer was unsure of the rates at... More
