Hotel Kia Ora is a small resort that was recently reopened following major renovations. We stayed in an overwater bungalow with direct lagoon access which we very much enjoyed. The bungalow was modern and comfortable. This is an exceedingly relaxing distination, as there is little to do other than spend time in the water and eat. The food is not... More

My wife and I stayed at the Kia Ora Resort for four nights in early April. Our OWB (#44) was fantastic. The room was very spacious; we especially appreciated having the flow-through ventillation as we do not like to use AC. The king bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever been on. The woodwork was beautiful.... More

The most beautiful water and diving. Restaurant staff, compared to other islands, not very friendly at all. But you're there for the snorkeling and diving so that makes up for it. The rooms are very nice and private.

We had never been to Rangiroa but were recommended it by an extremely helpful 'agency manager' at e-Tahiti Travel. Following the renovation, the hotel and grounds are extremely attractive. All of the staff were attentive and helpful. The restaurant was of a high quality. We went primarily to dive and were not disappointed. The diving and snorkelling was absolutely superb... More

We went to Kia Ora last weekend and stayed in an over-the-water bungalow. The hotel is totally new so disregard any reviews prior to Oct 2011 - the renovation is very attractive and the hotel and grounds are in top shape. The staff was friendly, graciously accommodated any requests, service was prompt. They, of their own accord before we made... More

The Kia Ora is my favorite spot on earth because the greatest snorkeling in the world is right there at your doorstep. I'm just back from my third visit over a number of years, and the renovation was worth the wait. If you want night life and action, this is not the place for you, but if you want good... More

I had never been to Rangiroa, but it was recommended by many people who travel throughout the South Pacific. Although most people suggested it is for scuba divers and I do not dive, but wanted a place to escape and drop off the grid for a few days so I decided to go. I decided to escape for 5 days... More

We visited the newly renovated Kia Resort this past January, 2012 for a scuba diving vacation. My husband and I actually stayed at the Kia Ora about six years ago before it was renovated, so we really got to see the major changes in this property. Overall, the resort is remarkably improved with better accommodations, better food, and much better... More

We went for a scuba diving vacation in February 2012. This resort is newly renovated and just re-opened in 2011. Loved our overwater bungalow and amazing view of lagoon and beach. Here are a few things that make the resort stand out: 1. Super friendly staff - everyone was friendly, personable, and took time to chat with us. They were... More

The Kia Ora surpassed our wildest expectations! The setting is tranquil, all newly rennovated, the private villas are beautiful, with amazing attention to detail in all aspects. The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Good food, beautiful place, great activities. The only possible way they could improve would be to expand the wine options. We loved our... More
