Pohnpei is a tropical paradise indeed, but its remoteness does not make it a crowded tourist destination. To the advantage of your spirit of adventure, but also at the cost of not having nice, relaxing, and charming facilities. The Village is the closest you have to an internationally rated touristic facility on the Island. And as such it is not... More

We had a great time here. The Point rooms at the Village hotel offered an amazing view of the ocean and nearby islands. The windows are screened in. A nice breeze blows through the rooms and a ceiling fan helps to keep you comfortable. The maid service comes twice a day, once in the morning for the main cleaning and... More

Admittedly, this is not a 5-star resort. It is, however, a unique and beautiful "resort" in a rustic, Pacific sense. The bungalows are spartan but well kept ... it almost feels like one is going to a camp in the Pacific. Air conditioning is the old fashioned kind ... ceiling fans and a nice breeze. The mosquito netting isn't for... More

Beautiful location up on a hill with great views of the lagoon and islands near by. The grounds are lush with beautiful trees and flowers. The rooms are bungalow style with thatched roofs, surrounded by beautiful rainforest vegetation and with gorgeous views. The best rooms to stay at at "The Point" rooms, they are quieter than the others. They don't... More

Restaurant had some good selections - limited though if staying for more than a week like I did, and service slow. Rooms have a great view but I confronted rats in the room regularly and found lots traces of them on my things as well. Other insects like lizards, spiders and ants are common but not as disturbing.

It's true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you are the type of beholder that loves tropical gardens at its most natural state, you'd be pressed to find a better setting than this. The size and beauty of the Raintrees by the entrance, to me, is unforgettable. And then the views from the restaurant but also... More

If you want to stay away from the city stay here. We found it a little far from the activity so we had to rent a car for a couple days. It was only a minor inconvenience but did force us to eat at the hotel restaurant. The food is average. They need to spruce up the menu after a... More

I moved to this hotel from another on the recommendation of a government official - very good move! The rooms are stand alone, open and fairly basic, with no TV or radio, but with a great eco-friendly feel. With open walls and a ceiling fan, there is no need for airconditioning. Fantastic restaurant, good wireless internet access and nice staff.... More

Dirty!! Bug, mosquito and rat infested. Huge (rat sized) holes in the window screens and the mosquito net over the bed. all beds are water beds. Overpriced, inconveniently located, old and badly managed (we don't care...we don't have to). Think Gilligan's island without the laughs...not a single luxury... primitive as can be!!!!!! If you want to sleep in a grass... More

We recently spent 5 glorious nights at this hotel. The owners and staff are friendly, the cottages are different and peaceful, the resturant was good and offered variety. If your travel plans lead you to Pohnpei, make sure to spend a night or two here!
