The Parador is in a perfect spot on the wall of Avila. Hotel is a bit hard to find in the maze of streets of the old city, but once we located it, all was well. There was good parking, a welcoming staff, and a nice cozy room. We took a long walk on the walls and enjoyed exploring the town... More

What could be better than staying in an historic palace inside medieval walls? Quiet with charming views from our window, a lovely bar for evening drinks and a tasty breakfast. The only negatives were that I found the bed to be quite hard and at breakfast the next morning, while there was a huge choice, they didn't keep the warm... More

The Parador de Avila is very conveniently located for the walk along the city walls and the main sights in the city centre. This was my first stay in a Parador and I was impressed by the size of the room, the cleanliness, the breakfast and the attentiveness of the staff - not the most modern decor in the rooms... More

i am an elderly experienced well-off world traveler who does a lot of research before each trip and is quite picky but not overly so i think. Luxury at not a fantastic price. Located by the walls in the old town, off the main drags, so quiet, and with a fabulous private garden, in a historic kind of palace, loads... More

This parador did not live up to my expectations from the website which implies roaring fires and luxury. It is in an old palace, but is a cold and unwelcoming place. Our first room was freezing and even with the heating on full blast, was still cold after 12 hours. The second room we were offered was larger, warmer and... More

This hotel is up to the usual Parador standard, set in a beautiful old fort which abuts on to the ancient city wall in Avila. Bedrooms are nicely furnished but do not expect any views as they either look onto a school or the street. This does not detract from the hotel at all. Bathrooms are very well equipped and... More

Paradores in Spain always never fail to excite me, always curious what to expect from the next one. This one is close to the wall, the hotel itself is an old Palace or a nobility house, once you figure out how to find your way to the room it is really fine. The service was great, however they follow a... More

Nothing preparers the traveller for their first view of Avila. The medieval city! on a hill, is set within spectacular walls with a total of eighty eight towers. It's an amazing sight and and it does not disappoint. The approach to the Parador is through an arch and over cobbles. The welcome was warm and we were were directed to... More

The position of this parador is perfect- right on the walls of this World heritage site. The parking is in an underground car park which would be tight if you have a big car! Our room was up in the tower, miles from reception but a perfectly nice room. Bar facilities a little tired. If you have a meal in... More
