Hotel is fine. Right in centre. Tired but in a genteel sort of way. Reception very helpful. Room perfectly adequate. But do not buy the dinner B&B option! Restaurant service is terrible. Waiters work hard to make you feel as if they are doing you a favour and you are disturbing their evening. Would stay at hotel again on a... More

The hotel is in the inner city so our our bus had to park outside and we had to walk about 1 km with our hand carry bags. There is a porter service avilable for a fee. Rooms are small. Air conditioners were not working and it was quite warm. The dinner was medieval with bread hard enough to use... More

this place has a nice air or old spain to it. the ground floor has really high ceilings and some of the old details of the original palace and a very nice seating area. the rooms were very modern and recently renovated. the drawback was the hallways were kind of dim and unrenovated. the basement restaurant was not very good.... There could not be a better location from which to tour Avila by foot Getting into the city to reach the location is far from easy, and better directions are needed on the website. We parked outside the city walls, and walked in to find the route to drive in later. Parking is available, but I would not like to... More

We (two couples and one teenager) stayed here for three nights in summer 2010. You couldn´t ask for a better location--literally a stone's throw from the front of the cathedral, yet it was surprisingly quiet. The staff were helpful (in several languages), but the rooms could definitely use new paint and furniture. Our rooms had little sitting rooms, a large... More

When I first looked at the photos it looked a bit too posh for my boyfriend and I, but then I read the reviews which mostly said the hotel was a bit frayed at the edges, and then I knew it would be perfect for us. Its true the hotel is worn out, and the toilet wobbled every time we... More

The air conditioning didn't work in the rooms. When our tour guide spoke to the owner, he was dismissive of her concerns! Each of our tour group's pilgrims had two choices: (1) Open window and try to sleep when the locals were celebrating Spain's World Cup victory until 5am (2) Close window and reduce noise at the expense of a... The hotel has a great location, close to the walls and the cathedral of Avila. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately there is no more good to be said about this fully worn out hotel. Stains in teh floors and the ceilings. Furniture that is broken or damaged. Holes in about everything that is made of tissue. The price they... More

Cheaper than the Parador, but for good reasons: the hotel does certainly not deserve its 4 stars. The rooms are chastly furnished, at 35 degrees no air conditioning was working, the shower was either cold or boiling hot, the breakfast was simple, the entire atmosphere reflected the 50s during which it was apparently established within an old city palace. Room... More

This hotel is initiall great to look at with a very grand reception area and common area. The rooms however are dated and the service is poor! Having discovered that the two single beds in our room were fixed to the wall, a very unhelpful guy on reception informed us that the hotel has no double rooms, when you can... More
