We went to Sapa for a couple of days for trekking and booked the train + hotel package via email. The process was good, as was the hotel and food (we just had breakfast - with clear European touch). The room was nice and cozy, as the hotel in general. We travelled in the 4 berth Victoria Express cabins which... More

A ride on two (price charged for the trip differs if there is the dinning carriage or not), our dinning carriage gives you the possibility to enjoy... More

The grounds were beautiful, the breakfast was nice, the spa was westernized but expensive for Vietnam-massage standards....the room was nice but nothing special (by Western standards). For a dirty washcloth, they charged us $2 to replace to which we were a bit caught off-guard...but no deal breaker.

We travelled to Sapa on the Victoria Express and stayed in the family suite at the hotel. The train was comfortable, although there is not much room with 4 people in a cabin. The trip to Lao Cai was noisy but we didn't mind the lack of sleep once the sun rose and the scenery outside captivated us. The bathroom... More

Our room was clean and cosy - really nice while service was just OK. Buffet breakfast was very good. You can find here both: Vietnam and European cuisine. We took a trip to waterfalls from the hotel. Seller was helpful and our guide was really nice. He told us a bit about Vietnam culture and in the meantime he wasn'turgent.... More

Dear Adam S, It is a pleasure to read your review. We will transmit your comments to the concerned departments. Our restaurant, Tavan, offers a selection of Northern Vietnamese dishes and Western favorites, a la carte or menu. We have some specialties and always select the best seasonal products from the north, respecting the international rules of hygiene. Furthermore, atmosphere... More

Hotel was very comfortable - spacious room, clean, good location. Lack of air conditioning would be an issue in hot weather. Breakfast very good - excellent breads and pastries.

Beautifully landscaped and maintained hotel. Room was well appointed. Major concern was no A/C. Their philosophy is that at 4000 ft there is no need for it. My finding is that our room temperature never went below 78° and was usually in the low 80's. I spoke to them and they provided another fan. We left the patio door and... More

Dear vicbrasil, Thank you very much for your valuable review. The picture you posted is very colorful, we can see that you stay with us during an especially sunny and hot period. And, indeed, Sapa is famous for its mildness where people from Hanoi use to come here very often to escape the crowd, the heat and to discover the... More

We chose this hotel as part of the package to travel from Hanoi to Lao Cai and return on the Victoria Express train. The forward journey was great, there were not many people on the train so the VE Supervisor who checked us in (French) gave us the cabin to ourselves as he did the other passengers. It was a... More

We used the Victoria Express train to get there. Considering that it's narrow gauge and old rolling stock, we were most impressed with what the VE achieved (plus a pat on the back for Vietnam railways in running so well to schedule - well at least they did on our trip). All our travel arrangements were managed by a combination... More

After having food poisoning on the overnight train up to Sapa, we were in a sorry old state by the time we got to the resort. It appears that Victoria probably does the train better than the other operators, as we couldn't get the return with VE we can make a comparison with orient7, probably the next best.
