Don't get me wrong, I really like the Prospector and have stayed there several times as do my colleagues. The rooms are roomy, clean, well appointed, and the staff is really nice. The hotel restaraunt is very good as well, I've gone to eat there even when I'm not staying there. What galls me about this place is it would... more

The management of this hotel doesn't read these reviews to be sure as I read it recounted my three day stay except for the clerk that checked us into room 311 she was great got us started on tours etc. The day of our departure our wake up call did not happen and we found that our phone wasn't working... more

I'll elaborate, at night you get to hear everything happening in every room on your floor, the walls are paper thin. It actually made for great entertainment. The rooms otherwise are OK with good internet access and I'm not sure what to call the decor, but luckily it wasn't falling apart. The staff seemed really on edge all the time... more

The front desk was unmanned when we arrived. The woman who finally came was rude. Towels and tub stopper were missing, both under lock and key, keys not available in the hotel. I left medications in our room, but called before our cruise left that evening. I was told it was not possible to search the room and nothing had... more

We stayed eight days. The service in this hotel was terrible. For example, room service asked as we left the room for a day of sightseeing, "are you done?" Additionally: they (room service) walked in to clean, and did not knock. We called the front desk repeatedly for a wake up call: no answer, for at least one hour from... more

We just got back from a 7 night stay at the Prospector. Juneau is a pretty drab town and this hotel sure fit the theme. Old and musty with desk help that at the best could be called uninterested. We booked our stay last November and I checked 3 times after that to make sure we had the suite we... more

This hotel was about 5 long blocks from the town center, but our room had a great view of the harbor. The room had recently been redone, so it was quite welcoming. The only negative was the little balcony which was evidently a popular spot with the visiting seagulls, so it was pretty full of bird droppings. We just kept... more

The worst hotel I have stayed at in the US. Poorly maintained, dirty, no AC, TV didn't work. I reported the problem with the TV to the front desk the morning of my first day, two days later they still hadn't fixed the TV. It was not that the TV did not work that bothered me, but that they did... more

We stayed at the Prospector Hotel and thought it was OK. We had a room on the road side of the hotel and it was hot so we had the window open. The noise from the highway was quite loud. I would recommend a stay on the mountain side. There is no AC and we could not get a fan... more

This is a decent hotel for a good price. The rooms are big and clean. It is in a good location for walking to town and restaurants. The hotel has wifi, but it is spotty and often needs to be reset. I thought the food quality and service in the restaurant was poor. Lots of food is served, but it isn't... more
