...so I was in desperate need of snow over the holidays, and the domestic USA afforded nothing but disappointing base depths, so I researched and investigated and discovered, much to my joy, Alyeska Resort...less than an hour south/southeast of Anchorage, on a drive that can be considered one of, if not the most scenic in the entire country, Alyeska is... This beautiful lodge sits high in the sky and has the charm and rich decor of Western Europe and the ambience of Bavaria and Salsburg. The ski lift takes you up the side of the mountain to the observation area and even in the last week of June we were able to walk in snow. The view was breathtaking, just... More

This is probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. The only thing I had a problem w is that our room didn't have a microwave! What's up with that?! Otherwise I would rate alyeska top notch. I would definitely recommend. More

Excellent resort for skiing. We had a package that included skiing and room. The food was VERY expensive and not so good and the portions were very small. More

We arrived at this resort after a very long, 13 hour, flight. We were met at the driveway with welcoming faces and our magical experience began. We stayed at the Alyeska Resort for over two weeks. The rooms are beautiful and the extra touches like the heated towel rack, free bottled water, delicious coffee was very nice. We ate somewhere... More

We're staying in this hotel (for the third time) now. It is beautiful here in Girdwood and the skiing is amazing. Unfortunately, the junior suite that we booked (and paid for---only hotel I've ever stayed in that charges the full room amount at time of booking, btw) in Mid November had an odor problem. Specifically--smelled of rotten skunk! Really! All... More

I like staying at alyeska it's always clean comfortable and fun. The food is good in all the restaurants they have to offer. Kids love playing in the pool after snowboarding all day. And it's fun to go to the bar just around the corner for dancing and drinks. It is one o my faviorate places to spend holiday with... More

As a last minute treat we opted to try and get rooms at the Alyeska Resort just after Christmas. Not only did we get rooms but we got a military discount. For some reason (economy I suppose) the occupancy rate was down so they were willing to cut the rates to get their occupancy up. Parking in the winter can... More
