A group of us stayed for a family wedding the owners were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The location to the beach was great and the bus only a few meters from the hostel was an added bonus. The atmosphere at the hostel was every thing you would expect from a hostel meeting others from all around the...

I am sure that backpacker’s accommodation doesn’t mean that it can have low hygienic standard and ants in the bed. But this is exactly what I found this lodge. It is true that I met a lot of friendly and interesting travelers, but it is also true toilets were not clean and I found ants in the bed. Lodge is...

Friendly owners Bill and Anna run this place where most backpackers stay for a longer time. Every evening we especially enjoyed the atmosphere in the common room/terrace, were most guests of different ages spend there relaxing time at the hostel. The fruits of the land are on the tables for everyone to take, usually banana and paw paw. The beach...

I stayed in this place for a week during the Christmas time(December) in 2010 for a week. I really think owners need to improve their customer service skills. They were grumpy most of the time. One good thing was that they gave us plenty of fruits for free, but I would not go to this place again.
Basic hostel, but for $19 a night I am not going to be expecting more. Fresh bananas and Papaya every morning. Bill and Anna are great hosts with lots of advice on the activities of the island. Close to the beach. Excellent book selection, perfect for the rainy days What more could you ask for when in Rarotonga?
If you want to experience the real Rarotongan life; go to Backpackers International!! It´s not one of those boring standard hostel everyone knows. It´s something special. So if your open for a new backpacker´s experience, come and visit the lovely local family that runs the hostel!

The hostel is very basic, but comfortable. It is also very cheap. The dorms only have 3 beds in them, there is a TV lounge with a dvd player and the kitchen is large, but there are only 6 gas hobs, and it can get busy - especially if there is a meal organised. The owners organise "international nights" where...
