I stayed at Mansion del Parque Bolivar Hotel for my final night in Costa Rica during a one week trip in March. I wanted to be close to the airport to make sure I wasn't late for my flight the next morning. While the hotel wasn't as close to the airport as I thought, it was a wonderful place and... More

The Hotel is more akin to a large house with 5 rooms. Ours was a little warm, (helped to keep cool by a fan - though would be much better if ceiling fans were installed). I note a reviewer said the water ran out. It does not run out as it is continuous gas, but we did experience one day... More

This is a simple hotel with simple room amenities. Nothing fancy or even close to this. The breakfast is quite simple and will not fit to the eating lovers. Before you check in make sure not to stay in room #4 as this room was not designed for comfort !

If you're looking for a stylish, comfortable, and quiet boutique hotel that is walking distance from the heart of San Jose, look no further. The morning breakfast is simple, elegant, and perfect to fill you up without feeling sluggish. Service was friendly and helpful in arranging taxis and completing our check-in and check-out. The rooms were relatively small, but were... More

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We used it as a base in San Jose, arriving once after landing in Costa Rica and then again during our travel transit time to the Caribbean coast. The hotel is charming and the guys on reception were really very helpful, especially with our luggage and advice about travel on public transport... More

From the other reviews, I got the feeling that this is a very good hotel so I booked a room here for one night. I contacted the hotel before hand, so they sent me a taxi to pick me up at the airport and bring me to the hotel (cost me $25). It took the taxi about half an hour... More

The room was beautifully furnished and quiet. The breakfast was nicely presented. The receptionist Eduardo was very helpful. The location of the hotel was good for walking into the centre and for restaurants, the best of which was cafe mondo

My wife and I stayed at the Bolivar Hotel our first night in San Jose, before continuing on our vacation. The hotel is located in the historic district, and has the feel of a grand private home. The rooms are clean and large. Breakfast on a sunny terrace is included. There is some street noise from the traffic, so you'll... More

A great location just a few blocks from the centre if San Jose but away from noise and crowds. It has only five rooms and I stayed in two different ones and both were large. There is a great little sunny terrace for the included breakfast in the morning. Hotel is very secure. What sets this hotel apart is the... More

This comfortable hotel is located in one of the best districts of San Jose. The staff could not be more attentive or charming. There are only 5 rooms in the hotel, each decorated with antiques, but with modern bathrooms. Our room was very spacious. My only criticism was that the sheets were rather worn. An excellent breakfast is served on... More
