It had been over 10 years since we first stayed at Lapa Rios and we were excited to return. All the things we loved are the same, and in some ways the place has improved. The furnishings are a bit more upscale, plus there are services like massage (I had an excellent massage) that weren't there the last time. But... More

We travelled to this resort with friends in March 2011. It was a small challenge to get to the resort given how remote it is and with that said, be prepared to travel on some bumpy gravel roads. The resort's driver picked us up at the airstripe and stopped when we wanted to get a photo in which was great.... More

For once the admiring reviews are true! Not much to add except AMEN! Four night package with all of the tours included removes the nickel and dining alternative. Certainly way better facility, rooms, and value for money than at El Silencio Lodge and its exorbitant activity charges. Here you have wildlife of all sorts right outside your door. Convivial atmosphere.... More

Dear DJ, Thank you for sharing with other travelers your opinion of your recent stay at Lapa Rios. We are honored to hear that we were the highlight of your trip. As you pointed out, wildlife is what Lapa Rios is about. The idea of the lodge from the beginning (now almost 20 years ago) was to create a sustainable... More

Wow. The best ecolodge. The rooms are gorgeous with the most amazing view of the Pacific and the rain forest. Monkeys and birds right out of your deck. Very private and clean rooms. Only 16 bungalows so you are overwhelmed with gracious staff and attention to your every need. Great tour guides and good food. Just wonderful. More

We stayed at the lodge Jan. 19-23 based on reviews here on Tripadvisor. Our experience was in line with the 5 star reviews. I'll not dwell on the many positives but will point out a few things that you should be prepared for if you choose to stay here. The lodge is as isolated and the road as rough as... More

This is a great eco lodge deep in the jungle of Costa Rica. The open air rooms (with screens) are very nice with great bath rooms nice amenities. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you and is very knowledgeable about the plants and animals in the area. Take advantage of as many guides hikes as you can.... More

I've been there for five days in January 2012, after visiting Tiskita in the other part of Osa Peninsula. If you like the jungle, this is one of the best places to be. You have the possibility to experience a real wild Jungle and sleep in big, nice and cosy bungalow with an amazing terrace on the Gulfo Dulce! The... More

Lapa Rios is ecotourism at its best. This luxury lodge practices sustainable tourism without sacrificing quality. All of the bungalows have ocean views and wildlife abounds here from scarlet macaws to parrots to sloths. I would definitely recommend the early bird and night walks for seeing the most wildlife. Also, my plane had some problems and I arrived late and... More

My husband and I stayed at Lapa Rios in Oct.2011 and the memory of our stay will delight us for time to come. The team there had thought of everything to make our stay wonderful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left - which turned out to be quite an adventure in the rainforest rain! Where do I... More

It's an experience just getting to this eco-resort on the Osa Peninsula next to Corcovado National Park. After a small plane ride offering stunning views and a landing on a small dirt runway in the middle of a jungle, we boarded a boat for a ride across a bay to the Osa Peninsula. We were greeted warmly by our hosts... More
