We loved the place. The staff was very professional and informative. If you are a birder you should stop here and talk to Mariano.....he is very knowledgeable and can help you find some spots nearby. It was great and we will be back. Pete More

This property belongs somewhere else. It sits high up in the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The town is accessed by dirt road. The drive, while bumpy, is well worth it. Views along the way of the Nicola bay are beautiful. Situated in the small town of Monteverde this property is truly a diamond in the rough. The amenities are first class... More

We are here right now and love it. So quaint and clean. The staff is the best all around everyone is so nice. Guides are knowledgeable and make it fun would come back in a heartbeat even with the rainy tour of the rainforest and I mean rain. Beautiful. The night tour was incredible frogs agoutis birds and tarantula. More

Unfortunately we spent only one night here. Placed in room 201, which had a wonderful balcony view. The room was immaculate and offered all the amenities of a more modern type hotel (lots of outlets, shower cap, etc) . At night we slept with the sliders open (screened so no bugs could get in) The price was not cheap (breakfast... More

This hotel is about a ten minute walk from downtown Santa Elena......and thankfully so as the town is full of tourist busses, noise and congestion. We stayed for two nights in a balcony room - highly recommended because it affords a great view of the treetops and a plethora of birds etc. The beds were comfortable and the room spotless.... More

We had a wonderful 2 nights here. Great grounds, nice rooms, clean bathroom (we were in a handicapped accessible room so bathroom was huge), beds not great. Restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was off menu, not buffet. They have pool, but we did not use it. More

We stayed at this hotel because our trip had been arranged by Costa Rica Expeditions and this property is owned by them. I hasten to add that I do not consider the fact that Costa Rica Expeditions put us up at one of their own properties in any way to be a mark against this company. This is an excellent... More

I wanted to give this hotel a wonderful review because it truly was a lovely place for us to stay, unfortunately events that happened and then how the hotel handled it had an effect on the rest of our trip. On our second night there, it was rainy and cold, so we opted to stay in the hotel, make reservations... More

Dear Nav531, I am glad that you found Monteverde Lodge to be a lovely place to stay. I am also sorry that you believe that money and your wedding ring was stolen from your room. Here is our version of the story. The manager of the lodge, Victor Julio Mora, was covering reception the night that the theft allegedly took... More

Our stay here could have been a disappointment, as we were telephoned just before leaving the UK with the news that the Lodge was over-booked, and our Forests view standard rooms were therefore not available. We were given the option of Garden Rooms or the chalet in the grounds - AND we were refunded the full cost of the accommodation!!... More

Monteverde Lodge is a lovely place to stay and the staff were all very nice. The food served was very good with but two exceptions. Frankly, I am told they are looking into their menu to make your stay even better. The Lodge is close to the Preserve which is the main reason one would want to go to this... More
