Location is good, a bit far from city but close to the forest. Staff is very friendly, rooms are great, you feel you are sleeping in the middle of the forest, no insects though. Very clean place with great breakfast. More

It’s a nice little place near the entrance to the (Quaker) cloud forest preserve; it’s been run by the same Costa Rican family since the early 1980s. It’s peaceful and quiet. First, the bad. The Mariposa is a ways from the center of town, so if you plan on walking in and out of town, be ready for a long walk - uphill at times. That said, it is closer to the actual Monte Verde preserve and some of the other attractions such as the dairy factory and the bat museum.... More
