This will be my second time visiting Tortuga Lodge and Gardens. It is probably one of my favorite places on earth. The hospitality is can not be matched. The food is great. The eco-lodge feel is not for everyone, but it makes you feel like you are a part of the rain forest around you, so I love it. I... More

This was a fabulous place to visit. Great food, great staff. Gorgeous location. Guides were friendly and knowledgable and great with our kids. We took a tour in the canals and saw crocodiles, caimans, and so many different species of birds I couldn't count them all!

First things first - you should stay in tortuga lodge. It's a 10 minute boat ride from the village (taxi is about 10-12 $), and its really great. Beautiful rooms, great pool and great staff. Breakfest is not included in most cases and its pretty expensive -15$ per person for fruit, cerials and eggs and since its far, you cant... More

Dear Miceky 185, I’m glad you thought Tortuga Lodge & Gardens was amazing, that the rooms were beautiful and the pool and staff were great. The price for breakfast is $12 per person; you have to add 13% sales tax and 10% service tax to that. This is charged by law for all food and beverage. I hope you didn’t... More

Our family of 10 spent our first few days in Costa Rica at Tortuga Lodge and it was an incredible introduction to the country and a first class respite from the indignities of international travel. The Lodge is beautifully situated in the jungle , facing the canal. All of your requirements are anticipated, things like rain boots for the jungle... More

We stayed at Tortuga Lodge for 3 nights on a 14 day all across the Country trip. Staff was the friendliest on our whole trip and accomodated everyting you asked for. The pool setting and the meals right at the waterfront are spectacular. The windows in the rooms don't have glass just mosquite screens so you have the jungle feeling... More

We visited over Easter 2013 as a party of 6 inc 2 children (4 and 7). Tortuga lodge was particularly good for the kids as the forest was readily accessible for short walks, the boat trips were fun, the pool relaxing and the food great. We enjoyed four boat trips and opted not to visit the village, which sounds to... More

The Tortuga Lodge and Gardens is my favorite place to stay in Costa Rica. You can only get here by boat or by plane... no roads. A truly remote getaway! The pool is spectacular and the gardens are filled filled beautiful flora, plus, birds, birds, and more birds. You can see, Tucan, Trogon, Heron, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, frogs, snakes, and lizards...big... More

I love the fact that this is only boat-accessible. Very comfortable and staff is friendly and goes the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable and have what you need. Beautiful setting and they were always there to greet us with a refreshment on returning from our tours. Thanks to all the staff for a great experience.

Our main reason for visiting Coast Rica was to enjoy it's amazing wildlife and (if it doesn't sound too pompous) to acknowledge and support the great work done in Coast Rica to develop their economy in a way that doesn't wreck their environment and therefore the options for future generations. We chose Tortuga Lodge for the contribution it makes towards... More
