This was a relaxing and fun place to be at: the owner are very friendly and helpful, the swimming pool is almost under the beautiful trees, the sloths more around the property, and each room has a charming and original decoration. More

Words cannot express how magical it was to stay at Cashew Hill. We are in our 20's, live in Oregon and loved the Caribbean feel when we took our first trip to Puerto Rico, so Costa Rica sounded like the next amazing place.... and it WAS! Cashew Hill and the town of Puerto Viejo brought an overall sense of relaxation... More

When planning our trip to Costa Rica, we were told by many people to stay on the Pacific side as the weather was always beautiful and it was safer than the Caribbean side. We researched the country and referenced tripadvisor.com for places to stay/eat/tour. Cashew Hill Jungle lodge was one of the places that really appealed to us as it... More

My wife and I stayed here (in 2010) and loved everything about our stay. Having a full cabin with a kitchen suited us very well. On our trip we had a car, but most things in town were easy to walk to so we only used it occasionally. This place was perfect for having our own space yet being close... More

The writer of this review and my wife were "tag along" participants of a three week long tour of Costa Rica which we started out at Cashew Hill. The trip had been planned months before by our daughter's husband and another couple, their friends. Another couple, part of the original plan, backed out and it came upon us to celebrate... More

This is an overdue review for a good establishment. Last year we stayed in the Playa Negra cottage for 4 weeks and we enjoyed the warmth of the hosts and the activities in the surrounding area. Cashew Hill is an ideal location for experiencing a natural surrounding and still be located close to town. I recall reading an earlier review... More

You need to stay there to understand why it is such a cool spot! Great vibe. Andrew and Edwin were excellent hosts. The weather was amazing despite the accuweather forecast of rain! (based on Limon) It rained over night a couple times and only once during the day for a few hours during our 9 day stay. I travel a... More

Cashew Hill is one of the best places to stay in Puerto Viejo. You pay a little more than you might in many places in town, but what you get is well worth it. The facilities are top-notch; each of the cabins has everything you could want. The location is excellent--a quiet place perched on a hill where you often... More

Went there as a family with our 8months old daughter in October for 8 nights. The cabins are nice, charming, clean and simple and including the well kept grounds represent a fair value. They are probably more "edge of town" cottages than jungle but you ll still see toucans and other birds and experience a nice ensemble of jungle sounds... More

We are retired and travel extensively. Cashew Hill is a gem ! The owners son, Andrew, is a wonderful host. He can't do enough for you. He is a young man with a terrific personality and work ethic. We watched him work hard and he ALWAYS had a smile. We observed how he treated his guests. He was cordial, funny,... More
