My husband and I stayed four nights in January, 2011 and were awed by the experience. It was so peaceful, sleeping in the forest, no electricity to bother the sky, completely open to the sounds of the night. Piero guided us through horseback, hiking, abseilling, canopy line, night hikes, all with such interesting information about animal and plant life. There... More

It is a bit of an adventure to get there -- a 4x4 jeep picks you up on the edge of tiny town (the name escapes me at the moment); and it's a bumpy 45 minute ride into the remote reserve -- involves crossing rivers. Apparently the river can get so flooded at times, the jeep cannot cross, so travelers... More

The Selva Bonanito Lodge is really a beauty in the middle of the jungle. We have been there 3 nights, but I could stay there for a month! It is not easy to come there and very important to go by daylight, but it is the trouble more than worth!! We came in the darkness and that was not easy,... More

We had been interested in going to Selva Bananito for a number of years. We finally decided to go over our holiday break – I wish we had not waited so long. We are a family ranging in age from 10 to 48 years and found the entire experience manageable. This wonderful eco lodge changed the way we will forever... More

Our extended family of 17, ranging in age from 6 to 73, spent 3 days at Selva Bananito and loved every minute of it - even with the constant rain in July. Jurgen and his staff are wonderfully attuned to their little piece of paradise and how guests interact with it. We did zip-lining, horse-back riding, tree-climbing, hammock surfing, hiking,... More

I liked to sleep in a so closed to nature bungalow. Life is preserved over there and if you like to live in a lodge with Earth protection in mind this is the place to be. Ask Jurgen to compensate the carbon used to go there by planting some trees, he will help you to calculate the amount. For the... More

While many (all?) places in Costa Rica are called 'Eco' the Selva Bananito Lodge truly deserves this title. What Juergen and Sophia (I hope I have this right) is nothing short of min opening. After they convinced their father not to cut down the rainforest they protect it by showing us what the land has to offer. You will find... More

Selva Bonanito lodge is a beautiful and peaceful place for the heart and soul. We really fell in love with this place. The experiences ranged from of listening to the birds in the hammock to horseback riding in full speed, which was fantastic. In the evening you walk from your cabin along a candle-lit path to the little restaurant where... More

We visited Selva Bananito Lodge for 2 nights in the beginning November 2009. We had our own car, had printed the journey describtion from website www.selvabananito.com before and had really no problems to find the way. During our drive to bananito (bad road conditions. Only 4X4!) the weather was good and thus we crossed the river wihout problems. Selva Bananito... More

Our adventure began when we saw the military convoy truck waiting for us at Salon Delia - we loaded our bags into the back, sat on the benches and had a great hour of bouncing around the bumpy, rocky road, crossing the river numerous times and driving up the middle of it. Arriving at the lodge is amazing, the cabins... More
