Very zen like. Nice and friendly hosts. We didn't speak Spanish or French, but were ale to communicate nicely. They sent us to "Willie's Tours" and we were off and running to a great four days on the Caribbean. I recommend the the El Encanto Inn. Susan  .

My top choice for Cahuita, a happy, beautiful, relaxed place. The French owners are the sweetest happiest people, the place is beautiful and lush, rooms clean and nice, hammocks everywhere and a very tasty breakfast is included. Loved it, merci e gracias!

We were welcomed by Daniel and Brigitte with a refreshing tropical fruit drink which set the tone for the week that we spent here. The breakfasts were tasty, ample and varied. The pool was clean and inviting especially in the hot humid weather. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless. The well tended gardens were filled with a variety of... More

What a fantastic relaxing place to stay!! Felt sad to be leaving this morning waving off brigitte and Danielle like old friends!! Stayed in a little lodge room in the beautiful tropical garden - with sound of the sea and the amazing dawn chorus. So many birds in the garden - a delight to walk around exploring, spotting many different... More

The El Encanto Inn has a truly beautiful garden which is the highlight of the place. There is a lovely outside reading area that is very peaceful. The breakfast was excellent, and the inn's location of being just outside the main part of town leaves it peaceful but with easy access to the town and the Cahuita National Park (roughly... More

If you appreciate beautifully maintained tropical botanical gardens, you'll love this place. All sorts of flowering plants and tropical trees adorn the grounds here and are lovingly maintained by a local man who works all week at keeping it nice. This was the only place I've seen poison dart frogs in my entire Costa Rica trip! The hosts Brigitte and... More

We arrived in Cahuita after dark with no reservations. I had researched El Encanto so crossed our fingers for a room. Cami was quick to answer the bell and showed us the beautiful room and beautiful grounds. We loved everything about this place. The rooms were clean, grounds very secure with a locked gate, the breakfast delicious and the dog... More

Merci Brigitte and Danielle! Thank you for the fantastic hospitality! It was exactly what we needed. Unlike the comments below, I also did a lot of research before heading into the jungle and otherwise unpopulated region of the Limon province to specifically stay in Cahuita. It was amazing to have indigionous poisonous dart frogs outside out door every morning and... More

Let me preface this by saying that I did A TON of research before booking the El Encanto, including reading reviews here, browsing pictures, and checking out their info on the Cahuita.cr website. I even made a spreadsheet! I feel veryVERY mislead. What is with these five star reviews?? Ultimately, I transferred over to Hotel Vaz, which is nothing special... More

I know that we can’t please everybody but I don’t accept the unfounded criticisms. One can’t say an establishment is dirty just because there are lizards/geckos; here in the Caribbean, it’s the regional emblem! There are everywhere but they are harmless. And those who don’t like nature should not come here. You are the only one to complain about the... More

We stayed at two nights and could have stayed all week. The property is beautiful and relaxing with several covered seating areas where you can read or chat while the rain pours down around your oasis. The french owners are incredibly warm and helpful and the town of Cahuita is small enough for you to easily walk. Cahuita also had... More
