First off, let me preface this with: If you are looking for a luxury resort, and a resort type atmosphere, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a really fun time, good people, lots of surfing, and just a relaxing fun atmosphere - this is the place for you. The resort is nice and basic.... More

Great place overall! I've been 3 times and use to love it! I have recommended it to other surfers. The surfing spots they bring you to are beautiful and secluded (not crowded). It is mostly super friendly as well! But I don't feel safe returning, having been drugged and abused by an instructor who is still working there. I no... More

Dear Trip Advisor Readers, We are deeply upset about this alleged unsubstantiated review of our Surf Camp, and equally disappointed that this review was allowed to be posted. While we respect the opinions of our guests past and present, we cannot support the statements of this reviewer. This alleged incident was thoroughly investigated. It took place after business hours at... More

My brother and I were planning a surf trip to Costa Rica for a long time and we were back and forth about renting a car or just going w a surf camp. But when we hear camp and lessons we second guessed it bc we didn't need lessons. But WRSC offers the three packages: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. My... More

Just wanted to give a little shout out to all the amazing instructors... I was definitely fortunate enough to get to know almost all of the instructors during my 10 day stay two weeks ago. And I have to say, every single one of them was so passionate, enthusiastic and encouraging it made my time at WR the best vacation... More

Witch Rock Surf Camp was nice overall. A few of the surf instructors appeared more vexed with the students rather than embraced their role as educators. Other travelers I met were friendly but the staff was mixed. There were some aspects of great customer service and there were other encounters that appeared distant. With such a small setting, I expected... More

Booked two days before i left and it all went smooth. Met people immediately and had a great time on the water and off. Everyone from the instructors to the bar staff were awesome. I will be back.

Overpriced rooms and lessons. Don't book surfing lessons on your day or arrival or departure! The people at the desk said we would get a lesson the day we got there and last day, and we didn't because the tides were not good at the times we were there. They were unable to give me back my money for the... More

A review like this is always a bummer, but we appreciate the feedback because it helps us to improve. We immediately had a staff meeting with our Reservations Department, Surf Programs, and Surf Shop. If you didn't get the lessons you paid for, through no fault of your own (like the tides) then you should have gotten a refund. Please... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Witch’s Rock for 5 nights before leaving Costa Rica. Rooms are very basic here, with a lack of a TV, much lighting, and an alarm clock. With all the fun you will be having either at the camp or in Tamarindo, this isn’t anything to be upset about. But if you are picky about... More

Just got back from a wee at WRSC. It was an amazing week. My wife took beginner lessons and loved her teacher, Daniel. I did the intermediate class and they took us to some great breaks especially Anellanas. The intermediate instructors were great as well. Their resturant, Joe's, had great food and the prices were low. If you are looking... More

I just got back from an amazing week at WRSC. My room was basic (as expected), but very comfortable and clean. The surf lessons, I had Josimar, were amazing. He was a fantastic teacher who really looked out for me in the water - it can be tough out there. I ate many of my meals at Joe's and everything... More
