Spend a night in Volcan Turrialba Lodge , i can tell you that if you are looking for something in nowhere.. thats the place, i loved the idea of its remote location and that you are pretty close to the volcano... I have been in Arenal and it has its own charm, but Volcan Turrialba is more wild, and pretty... More

I've visited this place twice, on both occasions it has been just a day trip and we have done horseback riding on the volcano, which I would recommend to anyone that's looking for extreme adventure, and a wonderful experience! The first time we did not stay for lunch, but the second time we did, what a mistake! There were 6... More

My husband and I spent two nights here. The view of Volcan Turrialba is fabulous and the entire area is scenic. The lodge was comfortable, the people very friendly and helpful although most didn't speak much English, and we really enjoyed the farm. The lodging is a little "cabin" which is somewhat rustic. It has a little wood stove in... More

After looking at the web site and corresponding with someone from the property, we decided to give this lodge a shot. The road to this place actually takes you by the park entrance to the volcano and after a short distance, it brings you to the lodge. The road up the mountain is horrible but the views are amazing so... More

First the best thing here is to get the ranger take you to top of Volcano if it's open. Regarding the lodge : I would have given them a better rating if it was not for confusing billing practices. I was quoted $90US for dinner and breakfast but when billed it added up to $109 almost on my card. When... More

I tried to find a place where my wife and I could spend a romantic and peaceful weekend. And I did! Volcan Turrialba Lodge was a quiet and magical place, sorrounded by the beauty of one of the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica and all the nature and green gave this place a peaceful atmosphere. The food was excellent!... More

What a change from the bustle of San Jose. After the heat of low lands this was a welcome relief. 9000 feet and 65 degrees. Just so laid back. A working farm. The food was fresh grown on their property or in the area. They have wood burning stoves in the rooms. The view of the volcano was awesome.

I was intrigued by the possibility of staying in a mountain lodge at some 9,000 feet near the peak of a volcano in Costa Rica and Volcan Turrialba Lodge turned out to be a great place to experience it. I made it my first stop in the Costa Rica and left San Jose for Turrialba in my trusty Terios at... More

My wife and myself booked two days with the intention of visiting the zone. While driving, we realized that you need 45 min - 1 h from the main street on a 4-wheel car - otherwise you risk getting stuck. Upon arrival, we asked to stay just 1 night as it is clear that you cannot use this place as... More

We stumbled across this charming lodge and farm on our journey to see volcan turrialba. We were so lucky to meet the actual owner who had just arrived from san jose. His hospitality during the single hour we spent there was marvellous..he treated us to some queso made on their own dairy farm and was so helpful and informative. The... More
