Staff is rude and unfriendly. Rooms are expensive for what you get. It's a miracle tico people can be that unfriendly. Don't go here.

Well, if you can find something else it would be better, but if you are staying here it is not a total loss. The rooms are very good, and so is the pool and the location. Though the front desk people were not noticeably welcoming as those in the adjoining restaurant, everything was great. Comfy beds in a clean room. Close to the plaza, good breakfast, and helpfully arranged a tour with Red Lava, which was also amazing.
