This resort is not located in the town of la fortuna town, it's quite isolated, nothing around the hotel.you need a car or taxi to go out. It was a 5 minute drive from the dam to arrive the resort. This resort has a reasonable good restaurant, a swimming pool, a spa ,a store,a gym.the room furnished with wooden furniture... More

My wife and I are in our 50s and well traveled. We spent 4 nights and 5 days at The Lost Iguana. First of all the place is huge. You can spend 4 hours just on their jungle trails. BTW, these are not trails for the timid. Bring water and a snack! The resort itself was beautiful, private, with lots... More

This place was perfect for us. The setting was so very tropical in a natural way, not contrived at all. The rooms, grounds and common areas were all just what we were looking for. We stayed for 3 nights and ate every meal here. The food was good and reasonbly priced. Since we partook in the afternoon happy hour 2... More

To make a long story short, we both were extremely disappointed with our stay, price / value by no means is balanced. We did arrive somewhat late, around 9pm, the check you could not call welcoming, the bell boy service to the Room was nothing special with out any friendliness at all. The room was equipped with the minimum, and... More

Considering you have been to 311 destinations in 5 years, with all your experience I am sorry you were not happy at the hotel. I feel it would have been a fair review if you had mentioned you also stayed at Kioro in Arenal and wrote the same review for them. I will be happy to offer you compensation, but... More

Just Returned on February 4th from Costa Rica. We traveled with 3 other couples (8 Total) Three Couples had second story rooms and my wife and I had a first floor room #5. All rooms have a wonderful view of the Volcano which has not seen a lava flow for 8 months. Fist it is not a place to go... More

If you have ever dreamed of living in a rainforest amongst the monkeys, parrots and toucans, this is the place!  We reserved 3 nights and ended up staying another 3 nights instead of going to the coast.  The Lost Iguana gives the guest a true view of both a rainforest and the great beauty of Costa Rica.  We passed all... Wonderful grounds - wished we could've stayed longer but there was so much to do in the area we didn't get a chance too...staff was great ..room perfect with jaccuzzi on terrace ...was like living in the rainforest - saw toucans and hummingbirds at breakfast - only negative was that if you booked excursions from reception it was much more... Hi Shira, Thank you for your nice comments. We should be charging the same as the tours charge. In some cases we even give discounted rates. Will you please let me know which tours were cheaper if you went direct? We need to check and see if they dropped their prices. We have never attempted to charge more than if... More

This would be a wonderful getaway anytime; the location and surroundings are gorgeous. Room spacious, nice patio with rocking chairs and volcano view (spectacular even though not erupting; ground level room is like looking into the jungle, with hummingbirds flitting about), pleasant pool/hot tub, terrific breakfast (included) with toucans. Found my keycard holder, and discovered that it is embedded with... More

My husband and I stayed four-nights at Lost Iguana Resort in a superior room on the ground floor. Because we had a ground floor room, we got an outdoor shower, which was pretty cool. We also enjoyed our jacuzzi on our balcony and enjoyed soaking in there while listening to the sounds of the tropics. Some things we enjoyed: Hiking... More
