This was my first trip to costa rica. claudia, the owner, did much more than i expected. she was helpful, knowledgeable, and always thoughtful and courteous. i was a solo traveler, so i needed to feel safe in my environment. the staff were always willing to take the extra step to make my stay comfortable. i highly recommend casa antigua... more

What the heck were they thinking to have rooms on a MAIN busy street that are open-air to the street? This is the noisest hotel I have stayed in - even worse than Khao San Road in Bangkok - earplugs didn't even help. we found this hotel on this website and read the reviews......what were these people thinking?????? the hotel is on a busy street, under the flight path and the bed was a fold up makeshift queen.....when the driver dropped us off, i was afraid to get out....and that was in the daylight....the pool was empty...OF WATER,,,,the receptionist did not speak english....... more
