Hotel is a quite good one (by Chinese Standards). Do not expect same levels as some International Hotel chains, but finally would do. The main reasons one can choose this hotel are the overall cleanliness, friendly staff (but with limited English capabilities), proximity to the main attractions in Shanghai - Bund, Nanjing Road, People's Square. The hotel is very easy... More

I stayed in this hotel as part of a Wendy Wu tour so I did not actually choose this myself but was happy with the hotel. Location – Situated right on the Yan’an elevated road, so very easy to find. A little way from the main sights, but it is possible to walk to People’s Square. Felt very safe to... More

This is a 'Wendy Wu' Hotel and had to suit their budget but it would've been great to start the China tour in more lavish surroundings. Having said that the rooms were acceptable and clean...(we had to hunt the floor for an earing so explored the carpet fully and it wasnt bad)! Its just that the service levels in China... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of a Wendy Wu Tour 'Majestic Yangtse' and were perfectly happy with it. The room was large and very clean. The beds were hard...but we had been prewarned by TA...(and we found all Chinese hotel beds hard!)...but do you know what?...by the end of our trip my 'bad back'... More

This hotel has 17 floors but only two are non-smoking. The public areas (foyer, hallways, bar) are smoking areas. It is hard to avoid smoke. The hotel would suit a smoker. The reception staff have limited English (for a supposedly 'business' hotel) and the internet is slow and unreliable. It is in a handy central location, although there isn't much... More

This was the first hotel on our Wendy Wu tour of China. We found the room size OK, the mattress predictably hard but the room quite clean. The view from our window was of the expressway and the schoolground immediately next to the hotel. The windows were probably double glazed as we were not bothered with street noise. Breakfast was... Good clean, comfortable room. Breakfast - good range of western and Chinese food, but hot food was luke warm. Coffee good. Smoke everywhere, even on 'non smoking' floors. Gym OK but no towels or wipe downs for equipment used. Room overlooking school playground - fascinating to witness outdoor assembly and army training at dawn (not at the same time)!

I was with a tour group and there were several other tours here at the same time. It paid to go to breakfast as early as possible as it got very busy, also the elevators were often crowded and you had to wait or use the stairs. The bar does not have much ambience, and has a very limited range... More

A nice, modern, multi-storey hotel with spectacular urban views from the upper floors. Staff are pleasant, polite and helpful, although few speak English. Breakfast is mixed Western and Oriental food and rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is used by package tours, so this can mean a long wait for the three small lifts when a lot of people... My family of 4 stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our 2 week holiday as part of a small group tour. Hubby & I stayed in a double room that was quite small, our teenage children shared a twin room that was much larger. At the time, we all found the beds to be very hard, but further... More
