It's just 5 minutes walk to the shopping street which is very conveninent. The single room I stayed in may be slightly small but it's clean and bright. stayed for 1 night. the reception lounge was just ok...front counter ladies can speak very little english. the rooms are small..super hard bed...the only best thing about the hotel is the location is very near to nanjing road and the price is reasonable.

Charms suffers from a dated decor. By the lifts going to the guest rooms, there was a massive leak in the ceiling that suddenly occurred out of nowhere while we were waiting to check in. The hotel is located very suitably in Shanghai. the staff is very efficient and well dressed. The food was a problem for us as Indian food was not available. We were very near to the Shanghai River cruise. One thing good is that you can get a taxi just outside the hotel. Overall a good experience

The hotel is in the center of everything. It’s one block behind the main street and that affects the price you pay (it was much cheaper than most of the central hotels we considered). Came here for a weekend in between a travel-volunteer experience in Xian, It is a great location in that it's near the Bund, the discount and high end shopping plazas. Hyper, expernsive. In Xian, a beer is about 25 cents - here it is about 8 dollars. But perhaps that's Shanghai rather than the hotel...... I had a soul-destroying view.... More

Again, group check in was lengthy. Was given a room with NO view (basically, an atrium in a high-rise, claustrophobic). The room was smallish and appeared well appointed, but the bed was again rock hard, most channels were in Chinese, free internet (OK, a plus) and food quite decent. No gyms.
