During our tour of potential colleges in the Southeast, the brightest stay was at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Opelika. We only stayed one night, but were greeted warmly and quickly checked in. Stayed here over a weekend for Homecoming 2008 with my wife. We had a great time and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised at how big the rooms were and the location near Tigertown made it easy to get whatever we needed (grocery store, restaurants, Starbucks, etc....). Stayed at this hotel for one night on a road trip through the South. It is brand new right off the interstate and not many people there on a Saturday night. Property is in development area that has other hotels under construction. It is a lovely hotel, quiet, tastefully decorated, everything sparkling new and clean.
