Great Location, at the east end of the Island. You are a short walk to The Dauphin Island Estuarium with tanks of fish and sea creatures, The old brick Fort is also very close to the campsite. My site for tent set up was under big shade trees with nature path and boardwalk trails to the beach close by. I... more

I just got back from the worst camping experiences ever with my family. We have actually stayed about 4 days each at Dauphin Island CG each of the last three summers. We knew what to expect about facilities and such. This year I was afraid for my children. About four hours after checking in, my 8yr old was harassed on... more

We were tent camping here from June 16 through the 20th. Although there was a small problem with our 1st campsite they were nice enough to let us move to another campsite. I had requested a shady and large site, because we have a large tent, when I made my reservation 3 months prior. We were given a very small... more

I have camped at this campsite for the past 25 years, since a small child...In the past couple of years my family and I have really enjoyed staying 3 months of the summer on the Island. However, the past two years have been really frustating. I very much disagree on how the site handles the reservations. I have driven by... more

This was a clean, quiet campground with private campers'-only beach access. Everyone was friendly. The shower house left much to be desired. There was no hand soap and there was a clump of hair on the tiles in the shower that was never cleaned off. For a tent camper, the shower house means a lot! We visited Fort Gaines and... more

Rates are very reasonable. The private "campers only beach" was very nice. In fact, it is the first beach I have ever been to that you could lay on an inflatable raft and not be washed back to shore on waves! You colud actually enjoy the water and the beach. We spent 3 nights there and love the campground. Nice... more

We researched numerous campgrouds in Gulf Shores area - this is the only one that appeared to be what we were looking for - quiet, trees, space and beach. This was camping. The sites all had plenty of room (we had a pop-up, but there were plenty of large campers and even an area for tents) and shade. $27 a... more

Just returned from DI after a very short three day trip. First I'll tell you what we missed; a cruise around the island, fishing off the pier and deep sea, also a sun burn. We did see sea lab and the fish . also hicked the bird trails and wound up on a secluded beach at the Gulf of Mexico.... more
