Quiet? Yes. Relaxing? Yes. Lovely white sand?True. But the oil derricks out in the ocean were a surprise to us and, quite frankly, a bit of an eyesore. My husband and I just returned from our 4th stay at the Inn and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Watching the dolphins from our balcony in the morning was awesome! My family spent a week on this island,,excellent stay! We saw dolphins, walked the beach and most of all,,NO CHAIN restaurants! No stop lights, palms, sand and lots of sun! Stayed at the Inn at Dauphin island, nice view! third floor unit 306. Very clean and we enjoyed the pool...but really enjoyed the beach.
