"Crazy Wanderers Homestay" is a guesthouse and NGO, and welcomes both, those who want to stay longer to help with the school and travelers in transit. We appeared at the doors at 6 am without notice, but were warmly welcomed with a cup of great tea (but I advise to send an email to Rupak prior arrival to make it... More

Unfortunately Kolkata was just a point of transit for us making way from South India toward Nepal; fortunately, we chose Crazy Wanderers Guesthouse as the place to lay our heads for a couple days. Well, we did lay our head during the night in the peaceful neighborhood surrounding the home, but during the day there is plenty of activity going... More

Being staying at “crazy wonderers homestay” was a special experience in my life. Dr. Rupak, a genius, energetic young man with sense of humor, is of an Angel I met in Kolkata. (you can check his profile in details from his FB-Rupak Chatterjee) When I was in Kuala lumpur for the transit, I check his guesthouse from tripadvisor, and all... More

Rupak picked us up from the airport and immediately promised to show us that Kolkata has more to offer than discribed in the guidebooks. For 6 days he guided us through the city and showed us various temples and monuments. And next to these big attractions he took us to traditional cafe's, coffeehouses and eateries where we ate delicious things... More

A gem in Kolkata! Hidden in the dumdum sector, a pleasant, familial sector, it's been for me a refreshing stop in a quite hot journey. The homestay is a living place, full with kids smiles, yogo invitations, And most importantly, the helpfulness of the staff surprised me. Helping you for any of your travels or even the smallest of your... More

Kolkata isn't just a city, its an all singing , all dancing, fire breathing, existential theatre of humanity played out in a series of dazzling colours, stark humanity, subtle moments and not so subtle tastes. I had the pleasure of meeting and staying with Rupak from Crazy Wanderers at his home stay, which gave me a privileged glimpse into the... More

Rupak was great communicating with me by email and phone before I came to Kolkata. Although he wasn't in town on the day I arrived, his colleague Gautam came to pick me up from the airport and made sure I was comfortable and that all my needs were seen to. After a good sleep, I got to see the wonderful... More

Out of the touristic parts of the city the homestay is located in a lovely neighbourhood. Even tough you can find two streets further a crowdy and busy street, the location of the house seems like an oasis. In this place you have the chance to meet people from all over the world, who want to contribute with any talent... More

I had been couch-surfing across Southeast Asia with my cousin for about two months when I met Rupak. He was the first person I met in India. I now wonder if I would be in the same state of mind about this rich country if it hadn't been so. His homestay, Crazy Wanderers is like a little oasis in a... More

This experience will be a perfect print on my memory for the remainder of my life! We spent a day learning from shining beams of love in the slums and countless hours listening to Rupaks lively tales and benefiting from his endless knowledge of Indian culture and spirituality. I cannot enough recommend meeting this incredible fellow and growing from the... More
