“Good refurb but could have gone further”

Now called the Pan Asia, this hotel is on the top side of the basic scale. The double room was twice the size of the bed - not a lot of room frankly. The bathroom was functional, the shower barely but the bucket system worked and hot water aplenty. 24 hour kitchens and good basic food even if a lot of things on the menu are 'off'. It served me well as a base. The staff wre friendly and very helpful. Whilst I was concerned on reading reports before arriving, I have none now. Good value for what it is. More

If you're expecting luxury, then you need to give this one a miss. However, in its defense, the Stay does offer a few definite pluses. 24 hour checkin is one of them - I arrived late in the night from the train station - and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have a night manager on duty, as well as staff who weren't at all grumpy at being woken up in the middle of the night. Their rates are reasonable too, and come in at just over 1500 Rs for a single with an attached bath and aircon. There isn't an in-house kitchen however there are plenty of eating options within a stone's throw from the hotel. They also have a collection of takeaway menus to choose from, and one of the staff will run along and collect your order. The room itself is okay, and could use a new coat of paint and an overall refurb, especially the fittings, and the curtains need to replaced.
